State of the Subreddit Survey (self.Megaten)

With Brlght leaving, I thought now would be a good idea to get some idea of what users currently think of the subreddit. Every question is optional, and all responses are anonymous and won't be published.

I also want to emphasise that the mod question is not an election, and does not mean that I will be adding a new mod any time soon. I just want to get some idea of who people think would be a good pick for if I do feel we need another mod. Any PM's or modmails on this topic will be ignored.

Also, I haven't used google forms before, so sorry in advance if I messed something up.

The sub's in a good state. Nothing against Crim personally, but Brlght loved showing his sense of humor, and it felt good having him as the ruler of the community. This sub's in great hands, just less funny hands. Which is fine, that's what the others are here for.

I haven't posted in a while. A pretty long while. About this moderator stuff, I have an easy solution: Ask Brlghtslde. Just ask him who he thinks would be best to take his baton. Then you see if that/those person(s) is well rounded with the community. Not an asshole, not a "no fun allowed"-type either. Just a thought.

Like i said, I could never tell if people are joking/shitposting when all i have as basis are text, usernames and flairs and to take into account how serious the current thread is or the initial comment.

And as much as it would work better to have a partner for Crim in modding, he himself stated that he isn't looking for one as much as we all want to reduce weight on Crim's shoulders.

See the thing here is, the entire conversation wouldn't have started if a lot of people bother to read. Crim explicitly said that he is not looking for mods at the moment and that he's merely looking for suggestions/ideas twice. Once in the text in the thread and once in the survey itself. And after which he even made a "joke" that I found a tad bit disrespectful to Crim, and I obviously did not detect the "sarcasm" he wished to put across with said "joke".

First, every mod here has played a part in the growth and success of this subreddit, but in different ways. Brlght played a big role in the design, but eventually took on a larger role with also watching the comments.

Kuiper was important in the growth of the subreddit as he is a mod on other large subreddits. He drove traffic to this page. Also, Please show more respect next time. I have absolutely no problem with banning you from this subreddit.

Honestly, I don't why why he is still a mod when he has shown he obviously has little interest in the community, and has been inactive for the better part of a year. If he prefers to spend his time moderating other subreddits, then let him do so - but revoke his moderator status from this subreddit, and appoint someone else who gives a shit.
