Reddit is valuated at ~$0.5 billion and has a staff of 71 people. It's big, but France by comparison creates $2,800 billion new dollars every year and is home to 66,030,000 people. Reddit's entire net worth is the equivalent of 46 minutes of the French economy.

There's no good way to get an exact figure on inflation going that far back, but France at the time of the revolution was the preeminent power of Europe. There is a reason Lingua Franca is a term people still use, all the nobles of Europe spoke French, and France's many oversea colonies had made it incredibly wealthy. It was a nation of 28 million people and was at the forefront of art, philosophy and learning. Then there's the damn effects of the revolution. It defined Europe arguably for nearly a century. There was a saying "When France sneezes, Europe catches a cold."

So no, A few hundred million in resources is not a revolution. The New York Stock Exchange has literally trillions of dollars in trades. The collapse of reddit and its $500 million wouldn't make a dent, particularly when its competitors would likely increase in value to compensate. This is no real revolution like the French Revolution (especially the French Revolution as it's arguably the single most important revolution in the history of revolutions and the most significant event of the 18th century) and it's hilariously bad that you'd call it that.
