As the largest PC gaming and enthusiast community on Reddit, our sole purpose is to promote and discuss PC gaming. It would be unfair of us to to deny our users content on the grounds that "everyone else is doing it". Our AMA's, giveaways, and content are all put together by the mod team, without admin intervention. Our stake in this recent drama is low if not non-existent.

In our honest opinion, there are many aspects of Reddit that can use tremendous amounts of improvement, to help both the users and the unpaid, volunteer moderators. We also disapprove of the lack of communication between the current site administration and the moderators who rely on their services.

We are not in support of any recent changes to Reddit, nor are we opposed to what other subreddit moderators have chosen to do. However, we choose to support our members and provide them a place to discuss and post about PC Gaming, no matter where that may take us.

All posts regarding the recent drama will be removed to preserve the sanctity of rule 6 but feel free to discuss here. Please report any violations of this request!

                Honestly, I think PCMR should go dark in solidarity with the other subs. We can all go a day or two without it, especially if that means the future of Reddit as a whole is more secure. If Reddit ultimately fails, and the current admins seem to be steering it in that course, then this sub fails too.

                        400k subscribers, 4k browsing now. Shut it down for less than a day, and you would've done your part. It encourages people who might not be aware of the happenings, to look what's going on.

                        /r/pcmasterrace has been under some scrutiny lately with it's 'questionable' title and actions. It's odd that the moderators wouldn't want to speak out about the shift in Reddit's actions over the past month or so.

                          Hey everyone, I want to make this comment and see if we can come to an agreement. Let's talk about it and see if we can sort things out without downvoting the most important responses and not just reply with "boo":

                          While our general purpose is not really reliant on what is happening right now, we shouldn't bow down to the people who have actively poisoned other communities. It's selfish to keep us up while the others are down. We are people of understanding, people who help other communities. Remember when, "no kings, no gods, only men" echoed through this subreddit? Why should our stance change now? I understand your point, mods, that while we don't fight the same fight, we are still being filtered and controlled by the same people that made these subreddits go private.

                          So mods, I propose this: We make the subreddit private, stop buying Reddit Gold, turn on adblock, (or whatever your favorite adblocker is) and watch the admins torch themselves until they change.                           With regards to putting together AMA's and such without admin intervention, that's commendable on your part but the admins should still be supporting Moderators not making their jobs harder. Their recent actions have been hostile, snarky, even tyrannical at times. They are doing you no favors. I don't normally post here but I have a lot of respect for /r/PCMasterrace. You guys are awesome and I really think the mod team should reconsider their stance on this. It's not a "because everyone else is doing it" thing it's just the right thing to do. The admins have left the users of this site no other way to meaningfully voice their concerns. Shutting down Reddit and showing them that the site is ran by volunteers and users is the only way to proceed. Please reconsider, thanks.

                            We're also part of a community. We're not pcmr.com, we're a subreddit. It seems silly to pretend that we're somehow apart.

                            In our honest opinion, there are many aspects of Reddit that can use tremendous amounts of improvement, to help both the users and the unpaid, volunteer moderators. We also disapprove of the lack of communication between the current site administration and the moderators who rely on their services.

                            OK? So, do something about it. People say "oh, like this is going to change anything," but it lets people know that you're pissed. It lets the admins know that you're not happy. Anyone can say "Oh, we don't like this," but it's easy to ignore words.
