My Lords, Ladies, Nobles of Indeterminate Gender, and peasant scum; G'day.
As you have no doubt noticed by now, a number of subreddits have gone dark. This started, apparently, with the removal of Elizabeth, a (now former) employee of Reddit responsible for setting up and coordinating the AMAs across the site. To the best of my knowledge, the big subs that did AMAs - IAMA, Science, History, Movies - all went private while they worked out what to do next. Other subs have since also gone dark/private/restricted submissions as part of this ongoing thing.
TumblrInAction, and the TiA family, will not be joining them.
We are not now, have never been in the past, and will never be, a metareddit sub; and this is nothing but meta. As such, any posts regarding the matter in TiA will be pulled under Rule 9, as will any in /r/TumblrAtRest and the other TiA subs. Our discussion sub, /r/TiADiscussion, generally only allows meta conversations about TiA itself; the sole exception is when a megathread is created regarding a specific issue. We will not be doing that for this matter, and TiAD threads about this will be removed on sight.
In a nutshell; the entire TiA family will carry on with business as usual (which means no metareddit stuff).
This is not our circus, and not our monkeys.
And a reminder; the temporary ban on SCOTUS marriage decision posts expires at 1700 hrs GMT today (Friday 3 July 2015).
Oh, one last thing; happy freedom day to the Americans for tomorrow. No doubt tumblr will have plenty to say about it. Please check before you submit to make sure you're not reposting something someone else found an hour before.
