Hey there! I'm /u/sayhats.

I used to be head mod of /r/punchablefaces a couple of months ago before I decided to take a break from reddit for a little bit.

I'm pretty sure it was because of all the Ellen Pao posts that got out of control, not cause "one mod left". I missed this subreddit as well, and I'm glad it's back up.

A lot of the people that came from /r/fatpeoplehate were breaking the sub rules and breaking site wide rules too.

It got quite out of hand. So much so that even an admin offered to help us out.

At the time we only had one mod, the other mods moderated for /r/fatpeoplehate and were shadowbanned.

We didn't want our sub to be banned too so we decided to shut down and clean up the huge mess and wait for the drama to die down.

Soapboxing was when people would post in the title stuff like "This person killed two kids and then raped a dog". What they did doesn't make them punchable. What they look like is what makes them punchable.

Yeah this is a great idea. This subreddit seemed confused on its identity before it turned into a pao shithole. It should be punchable faces regardless of what they did.

Really funny considering the other moderator made it look like fatpeoplehate was just a bunch of crybabies considering this sub was built for FPH by FPH users...

You guys seem to keep forgetting that detail. And how were our users breaking site wide rules? I am confused. Posting in subreddits relevant to the topic at hand is not breaking site wide rules.

I think you're mistaken.

this sub was built for FPH by FPH users...

IDK about that... I haven't been around for very long but the mods of FPH had absolutely nothing to do with this sub until I originally brought them on about 5/6 or so months ago as moderators when I was /u/ZameruM before I deleted that account.

/u/ThePenisWizard and /u/Hamphobia where the two that I brought on when I was made head mod of /r/punchablefaces.

They both were FPH mods and both have been shadowbanned a couple of times. Not sure what their alt accounts are named now.

At the time our sub just reached 45k subs (this was in February of this year I believe)

This sub was growing very quickly regardless of the of /r/fatpeoplehate influence.

Yes, they were breaking both the site wide rules and the subreddit rules.

Death threats? Racist and sexist post titles and comments? Spamming? Soapboxing? Politics? Memes? Asking for personal information?

Racism and sexism is not against the site wide rules. I don't care bout the subreddit rules. That wasn't what I asked so don't change it. I asked what SITE WIDE rules were broken.

What are you on about? The original creator was an FPH subscriber, and modded all of us at the same time. He made it clear he wanted me to have the sub (screenshotted at the time so I had proof for the modmail here) but you accepted the invite first.

You didn't not bring any of us on. /u/Hamphobia was first /u/VforVilly, and only started going to FPH AFTER we met here. I only modded him to FPH because he had experience from here. He wasn't even /u/Hamphobia until like two months after being added to FPH.

Hamphobia was never shadowbanned. In fact, you and I talked about this just a few weeks ago.

Not sure what their alt accounts are named now.

Again, you and I were talking when this sub went private. You know my account name...

/u/Hamphobia was shadowbanned a couple of times and so were you. I modded him to /r/punchablefaces and me and him modded for /r/virtualfreakout because they wanted some css and I offered to help out.

Ironically he used a lot of the css I did for /r/virtualfreakout on /r/fatpeoplehate or at least they ended up looking very very similar way back when.

The reason I remember it so well is because I remember him telling me he was shadow banned for upvoting some of his posts with another account, maybe his sister's or something and me having to remod him multiple times.

No, he wasn't. He deleted his account twice. That's why his old posts show up as deleted. If he was shadowbanned, his username would still be visible. He found out that someone used the same name as his reddit name on their twitter, and he didn't want his actions at FPH to fall on them.

Wow, I hadn't noticed that there was a banned list until now, what's the reasoning? Just gets repetitive, or were they doxed or something? I only recognize a few names on the list so I might be missing some of the backstory there.

I think you should consider more than a 3 day ban for posting a banned face. 3 days would be worth it for most trolls. I think it should be at least 2 weeks if not a month just to get the point across.
