Instead they downvote the people who agree with me and just circle jerk. But here it is. I am putting it here for completion. This place is toxic.

It just seems like you're insincere most of the time. I think doing this donation thing is great, but a lot of people are still upset. If you think just donating the money is going to make everyone like you again, you're in for hard road ahead.
I think this is a start to becoming less disliked, but you wont make any friends here by calling us toxic and a pile of crap.

Hero, you are a public figure and this subreddit is a conglomerate of terraria players. You are held to a higher standard than the rest of this community because you chose to become a content creator for this game. This community does not owe you anything and has the right to say what they think is right. This is an open forum.

On that note, we as a moderation team have been deleting comments that break our rules including anything directly offensive to you or attacking you. We have not taken sides and we still are not taking sides but calling the entire community a "pile of shit" is uncalled for when some of us were still supporting you.

Your apology turned into a flame war of you against the entire subreddit, and we let you say what you had to say still.

This is coming from me as a person, not as a representative of this community or mod team as I am an interim moderator and only a small voice in this community.

I don't know what else to say, if you have such a big problem with this community then stop interacting with us. This and your apology are the only threads left about this topic, the rest of us are playing 1.3

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I appreciate you donating the money, I did not expect you to do that. I'm sorry that the community has been harassing and harsh but your responses should have been more mature.

He's just a guy making videos for YouTube, holding him to a higher status shouldn't even happen

It's shown to be way too much pressure for a regular guy, who clearly can't stand the wait of thousand and thousand of people (nobody can)

Would you not hold streamers of another game to a higher standard? If someone on a league of legends stream starting flaming back at a community that was attacking him, he would be asked to stop streaming as well. If you can't see that this was hero's doing, then you can go look at /u/redigits comments about the situation. He as a developer asked hero to stop streaming because of the nonsense and commotion he caused. This is not me picking on him for being famous, this is me being a concerned fan of his. I was a long time subscriber of his.

However we are talking about holding him to a higher standard in the first place, we can both agree this was more than just a community attacking him, this was a war against him. Now just because he has a large amount of followers it does not make it super human.

Celebrities crack under this pressure all the time, and by treating him as one is only going to create the exact same effect.

Yes it was but my point still stands, he should have handled it better because a 45k member community cannot be predictable and stable all the time. He is one person, if he would have just responded more politely or simply ignored it and not called it an AMA in the first place then I would be totally on your side.

None of the death threats, interruptions or attacks against hero are right or okay. I personally have been deleting any and all comments that are doing any of those things. I am not against him.

The issue is, he wasn't prepared to to handle such an event, he's not a PR guy, he's litterally just a guy who play and makes videos about Terraria. So we shouldn't expect him to be able to

As a Terraria Channel with over 100,000 subscribers I wouldn't have a clue how to handle something like that, YouTubers build up a tolerance to bad comments, and negativity- but not on a scale like this.

So now that you've been called out you can just say it's all blown over and everyone is playing 1.3 like nothing happened. So HERO should react the same? This man got death threats everyday, couldn't even stream properly after apologizing and trying to get an actual stream going do to trolls, and your over here playing 1.3 along with reddit like nothing happened. You all could criticize HERO for how he handled things, now expect it right back.

The thing is, he is a public figure. The same way that I did not post like an angry redditor, he should have. He is held to a higher standard because he chose to become a content creator for a game that this community is dedicated to. I do not think it's right or okay that he got death threats or that he got harassed and I have been removing comments and threads all day.

You also didn't get death threats. You didn't have to be called a greedy asshole. You didn't get stream interrupted repeatedly. You didn't have to go through all the stress and emotion. You didn't have thousands of people against you. Hero didn't respond nice like you.

I couldn't count 1 instance of "exploding at the community" in HERO's original apology. This is another instance of people stating what he did wrong without showing proof. We all know he blew up, but this was after the original apology and him repeatedly trying to stream content to people to make up for the first mishap, there was even someone who kept donating money to him so it would say "kill yourself" on the screen. A fake mod even went in and banned all his viewers which he spent 20 mins un-banning.

You see, he didn't post like an angry redditor. He posted like a verbually harrassed, saddened, defeated man full of conflicting emotions. Why can we hold him to a higher standard for being a "streamer" when streamers are just "humans" like you and me, they even go through more stress then you or me, so why do you have to downplay the emotional distress here?

Fully agree with this The7thLegion guy. People just freaking... enough already. Everyone chill and have some fun with 1.3 instead of wasting your time by complaining and other things. HERO deserves a rest. No ifs, ands, or buts.

HERO, you didn't handle everything the best but no one handles everything perfectly. Everyone has their weak spots and these people probably wouldn't like being treated the way they're treating you. Good luck, man and I'm very sorry for all this horrid and unnecessary hate.

Really guys, claiming hero is causing drama? Yesterday someone specifically mentioned how they would be at peace with hero if he donated all his funds and apologized, and you know what, a majority of that thread all agreed. Here he is giving you exactly what you asked for yet your still sour and telling him HE is causing drama?

This isn't drama this is pretty much a farewell to this community, all he wanted to do was just show that he didn't do what he did for the money and leave. He already tried being nice and apologizing and you guys all still gave him shit.

When is it enough for you reddit? When do you draw the line, Why can you all sit here and badger this man to the point of tears and emotional breaking, then go play your game like nothing happened? Sure Hero did some questionable things, but they were NOTHING you lost sleep over, Many MANY and i do mean MANY of you have done the exact same thing.

Most of the complaints the community had against HERO were based off of past accusations that CONVENIENTLY had to come up now, and that's all they were too, ACCUSATIONS. Not a single one of you even threw proof to go along with your accusations either, you just said some shit you heard and the hive mind AKA Reddit upvoted you because you had a couple buzzwords in your comment.

This didn't only show the immaturity of this sub, it also showed how terraria's community itself has changed from a fun game based around building,discovering, and blowing shit up with your friends or alone, has in turn been made into this machine fueled by hate and drama.

So next time you want to tell HERO to leave and quit causing drama, just remember, YOU are the reason why this was so big. As HERO said himself, Goodbye reddit and the Terraria community. I do not want to be part of something so toxic and vile to the point of spamming death threats and following others into blind hatred.

HERO, you will always be the same person you were to me when i started terraria. You were the first youtuber i watched religiously for terraria content. Carry on and just ignore the hate. You have your true friends backing you. This only weeded out the fakes.

What proof? all i see is an empty AMA. All the concerns posted in that thread where handled in HERO's 3 or 4 videos he put up since the first stream (yes even when he exploded he addressed these). Nice job on the insults too. A+ for effort, but let's try to spice it up a little more next time.

Everyone just shut up about the HERO thing! I'm not one of HERO's villagers or anything but you are treating him ridiculously. And someone reading this may think "well he treated the community/etc ridiculously. Sure, think that. But give this thing a freaking rest and stop treating him so roughly.
