I might have been wrong, she was born in 1991, but I am not sure when Lazytown was actually filmed. Her name is Julianna Rose Mauriello.

Can anyone explain what waka voice means?! Is this the missing piece for this to make sense to me?

From what I understand, a lot of younger people use Facebook to collect friends the way they collect followers on Instagram. The hashtag also makes their status searchable if they decide to make it public (which means it may get likes from strangers who are just searching "straightpride" on the internet).

I assume his circle of friends and their friends skew towards bigoted.

I literally came here to say this; it's not surprising that there's a knucklehead that thinks this way, but the fact that they have 300 other people who think the same way is baffling.

Uhhh have you seen the garbage that gets likes on facebook? Literally the lowest common denominator of internet interaction.

its easy how it got so many likes. We have a bunch of people with their hands on their ears and who closes their eyes. These same people have little to no education and/or have little to no life experiences but they are entitled to many opinions. Now, they read this comment and someone has an opinion that is the same as them which is gay people = bad. Whatever the arguments are they dont care as soon as it hates on what they hate. Results = 330 likes.

I fucking hate the Red Sox, they gave my grandfather testicules cancer.

Because there are 300 idiots that think the same.

So they legalized gay marriage but you don't get to choose WHO you marry because then you could just choose to marry someone of the opposite sex and be straight? Flawless.

Yeah cos if you're born gay then you must be born gay married too, right?

I guess they're thinking that "it's our choice on who we marry" means that they would consider marrying straight, not "i choose which gay person i want to marry." So, from a certain point of view, what he said is true.

    Strawmen, how do they do?

I really like this #straightpride tag. I imagine some straight people going on a meeting akin to those alcoholics anonymous ones, someone stepping up and saying "Well, my name is Chad and I have to confess, I was tempted today by a beautiful cock and I DIDN'T suck it!!! STRAIGHT PRIDE!" and then everyone applauds.

    Welcome to the idiocracy....

The future US at least seemed funny in Idiocracy... this fucking nonsense is completely without humor. People will do incredible mental gymnastics to justify their hate, it's kind of sad.

What, you weren't born into your future spouse's family?

It's nothing new. Socially things are moving along well

This comment doesn't even make sense.

Is it supposed to imply that people's intelligence is now somehow worse than before? Because the opposite is true.

He's referencing a movie called Idiocracy

I know that. But how does it apply here?

the movie is about dumb people

the person in the picture said a dumb thing

i assume his point was that people are getting dumber, just like the movie

No. It's that the less intelligent are becoming more conspicuous and that their flawed reasoning is becoming more mainstream via social media.

This is known as being extremely dimwitted

I suppose the closest thing to this is strawman, I think. The person is over simplifying or misrepresenting the opposing view in order to make their view more appealing. He's just so bad at it that he looks even more like an idiot. It's like setting up a strawman and then when you try and punch it, it springs back and smacks you in the face.

Now let's switch the hats shall we ...

    Straight people logic:

Straights- it's our fucking choice on who we want to marry.

Gay person- but which one is it you said you were born this way now your saying its a choice

no the straights chose to be straight and left all their homosexual tendencies in the closet
I don't understand why the gays cant stop coming out of their closet and choose a straight lifestyle like I did
    /s

Yeah i completely agree. I can just remember the second before i exited my mothers womb and i chose "straight" instead of "gay" (i had to press "a" instead of "b" on my gamepad).

What's even worse is even if it was a choice. Even if every single gay, lesbian, trans or bi person on this planet chose to be that way and wasn't born that way. Why would I as a straight male care? I don't get this whole thing. (except that some lesbians are pretty hot)

Your inability to show respect for my otherkin triggers me /s

Not if you're sharing a womb with your twin sister-wife.

This is why we should teach logic early on That way at least someone with a shitty argument can make it seem valid.

"An argument no one understands is no argument but made up bullshit." - /u/sakkara

    /s

Seriously dude the argument made here is not hard to understand it is just wrong because the debate if gays are born gay and if gays should be able to marry whoever they want are two different things.

I know. The dude who made the status clearly didn't understand that whole separation while making his status and thus to him it seems stupid because he doesn't understand that it's two different thing.

Is he actually assuming that when you are born one way you must not have a choice in your life whatsoever? Is that his logic? Please kill me.

Yes i agree that we were born this way, but marriage is a completely separate choice that we as individuals make to each other. So both statements are correct.

You do have a choice in who you marry. You choose to marry the your partner. Starlight couples choose who they marry.

You'd think people are intentionally obtuse, but they're not.

I believe it is a choice to be gay or straight, as most of it is simply about what gender someone wants to refer to themselves as, not actually anything that differentiates one gender from the other, cuz there isn't anything different between them. There is tons overlap between the genders, there are men who look and act like feminine women and women who look and act more masculine than most men. Not to mention it is possible to fall in love with someone you aren't physically attracted to as well simply cuz of their personality, and personality isn't specific to any gender. We may not choose what we are attracted to, but what is stopping a lesbian women into really masculine women from dating a trans man planning to keep their vagina. Sure you could say genitals tell you the difference between a man and woman, but then where does that leave the the intersexed and transgender communities?

well obviously since gay marriage is legal everyone has to be gay now
