I live at Myrtle and Lewis currently. I can't say I've seen shit as bad as nandercolumbus, and if I did I wouldn't live here. That's not to say it doesn't have its moments of sketchiness to me. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice for a neighborhood and there really isn't shit to do - for any bars, restaurants, pretty much anything but grocery shopping and laundry I leave the immediate neighborhood. To me, it's a decent neighborhood because I work off the J, go to school off the M and have tons of friends across broadway in bushwick. Like what everyone else has said though, go to the neighborhood at night, alone and do the walk from the train and feel it out. Do it a few different nights of the week if you can and try to do one really late. I know a lot of young people moving in the immediate neighborhood but it is nowhere near as comfortable as bushwick, and other parts of bed stuy.

I used to be like this a lot in a kitchen. It probably took me a month to settle down and although I still have bad moments I've gotten a lot better. I have anxiety and panic disorder so that is another whole issue, but I had it pretty much under control until I started cooking. What helps the most honestly for me is intense planning - prep lists, lists of what I'm going to get when I go to the basement, lists of mosts tasks no matter how mundane they are (even make rice goes on my morning ones a lot). My station partner when I started was a huge help with this - she was very similar mentally but on the exterior was cool and calm. Another huge factor though I think was just socializing with my coworkers, when I was like what you are describing I barely talked because I always had a million thoughts racing through my head. It helped me come back to reality a lot more than I would've imagined.

I like the transportation one (I think I had a carpet w/ the same print as a kid) but not digging the rest. Only pushes out a lot of hats and for me are either hit or miss with nothing in between. Also $55 for a hat from a super established street wear brand is about middle of the road, for what its worth.

I can vouch that the quality is pretty shitty. Mine lasted less than five months. Even at the price I got them, I think $80 on sale from gilt, I wouldn't recommend them.

Just going off how often the menu references other vegetables as "live" I'd imagine the word live is describing the kale and not the marinating, although what that means, along with "live onion" or "live falafels" I have no clue.

We usually cook off a deep half hotel of it at a time (10 quarts) in turns of about 3 quarts in a regular sized wok, but ginger scallion is something really easy to scale down, I do it at my house in a pan all the time. You only want the oil as hot as you would get it if you were sweating something, so there shouldn't be much splatter to worry about.

Cook the ginger and scallion in oil instead of pouring the oil over them. The oil doesn't need to be ripping hot and you don't need to cook it that long, maybe 30 seconds to a minute over medium heat. I work at a chinese joint and this is what we do and I think the sauce really benefits from some of the bite of the ginger being cooked out over heat. Then just transfer to a container in an ice bath to let it cool.

As easy as it is to hate on yelp, reading through this place's bad reviews (the ones that are more believable than the screencap in the article) makes the place sound pretty fucking terrible. Add on top that the guy is emailing reviewers telling them why they're review is wrong? That's just moronic.

medium isn't a great fit by a lot of standards but I tend to enjoy ever so slightly relaxed fits on ocbds, if you pay a lot of attention to how it works in your silhouette it could work really well
