I think a lot of US people a) don't know fuckall about western involvement in the Middle East and further east countries and b) don't grasp sociologically the sheer force of power behind what has happened historically and presently, and c) have likely never visited said countries or know many people from there. Basically the "ignorance" supposedly rallied against.

It's like most people cannot find a middle ground of empathy. Is it really so hard to imagine why so many people from there hate the west or at least distrust us? Or are angry, or scared, or whatever else over it all? You don't have to condone the action to at least acknowledge the complicated web that births such outlooks and feelings. It strikes me as a supremely cowardly fear to, for once, take some fucking responsibility that the west as countries and powers have not and are not just poor innocent bystanders.

Enter sites like reddit, where users submit content and everything is free. They get what everyone else mostly pays for, for free. Then whines. They whine about the "character" of a person they felt zero shame objectifying themself.

You are the jaded and twisted fuck who seems to think by posting naked pics a person somehow is worth "less". Posting naked images isn't a control thing, certainly not how you picture it. And it certainly doesn't say "Hey my body is the only thing valuable about me". It says hey this is my naked body.

Totally off topic but Mr. Mothbrights works in a STEM field and tells me all the time that he works with narcissistic jerks who really are not that great at their jobs, make the women at their company uncomfortable on the regular and are in general very unpleasant people. He also abhors the "old boys club" attitude in his particular industry (defense) because it runs totally counter to a meritocracy. So the icing on this cake is he feels the technical degrees on computer science and computer engineering are essentially worthless (and he went to MIT for the engineering degree) because he could have easily learned the nuts and bolts himself.

The most valuable for him being as successful as he is today, according to him? Philosophy and every social science course he took. He sought out a woman mentor because he knew on top of her success she did it as a woman. He is utterly suited to STEM and very very successful but it cracks me up that STEMjerk redditors would basically hate him for his outlook or how he went about his career.

The "not in the way you think" actually piqued my interest.. I imagine the admins have lots of data and I'd actually love to hear about this. It may help us fix any gaps in our current policy.

I wonder too if it's not us yelling at the poop which, sometimes, a well timed callout can galvanize decent people to start standing up as well which can obviously effect the final vote count.

It would be hilarious if we erred on the upvoting side and highlighted the poop.
