Hey, sorry, but I removed this. As a rule, we try to avoid ranking forms of harassment around here (all harassment is bad). Just avoid this in the future, thanks!

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy – This site explains all the technical philosophical issues regarding postmodernism, but it is boring as fuck, filled with incomprehensible jargon, and does not go into how the philosophy is actually applied to get the crazy shit we see in the earlier dawkins video and anti-GG SJWs.

lol

Site that actually explains things in a neutral fashion? Fuck that shit.

There's also the shit they talk about behind your back too.

I once was in a group project for engineering in a mostly "communication" based course (think: learn to write engineering reports, research, etc.). It was taught by a woman. The going myth was that in order to get an A, you needed to be a woman (I got an A and I am not a woman), at least among the guys I spoke to, yadda yadda women have it good in engineering etc. There was also statements to the effect that our professor wasn't an engineer (she has a PHD in Electrical Engineering, which I informed them of to their shock). The most bizarre stuff, seriously. I have a theory that it was because she offered advice to engineering women trying to make it in the field, and as such was clearly SRS.

I have no intention to do any detrimental to the U3P.

I'm sure that you're not trying to do anything detrimental to the U3P, but consider what you're saying in the post above. You are saying that people who "do not understand" should just not vote, which is a logic incredibly detrimental to the U3P as a whole. Effectively, you are saying that if people are not quick enough to understand the proposition, they should not have representation. This sets a troubling precedent, especially when we consider that people have not been given enough time to even understand the options of the vote. To me, this is unacceptable. There is no rush in democracy. As someone who is being represented, I want the U3P to make decisions based on reasoned discussion and debate. Not rushed with poorly formulated votes and misunderstanding.

I have been talking this over in chat for the last month.

Just because you have talked to some people about it in chat, this does not mean that everyone has truly had chance to address the issue (as is evident by people not understanding what even the options are). As such, I would suggest that even though you are very much in favour, that for the health of the U3P as a whole, you should consider what a vote like this, and how you suggest this vote should go, means.

I would also like to suggest that having a chat with a select amount of people limits the ability of people to object, and doesn't make me feel better about this at all.

I'm not a senator, but as someone a part of the U3P, I want to say that this looks really shady. It's pretty clear that people don't understand the options afforded to them. Having an "official discussion thread" is not adequate to determine whether a discussion has been effective, whereas what we see here shows us how ineffective the discussion has been. Pushing for people to "settle it" without understanding it is questionable and against the spirit of U3P. Proper deliberation is necessary for a healthy vote, and unless there is some rush there is no purpose to making hasty decisions You admit, you have no towns in mind to be rushed in, so this shouldn't be a problem, though frankly the urgency with which you treat this makes it hard to trust you in this circumstance. I think the Secretary-General should retract this vote until there has been adequate discussion of the options, and I don't think you should be dissuading him on the grounds you've asserted.

Hm, I wouldn't say it invalidates feminism at base, but such a strict social determinist standpoint would invoke a certain amount of fatalism, leading most likely to a defeatist philosophy and a conservatism often associated with biological explanations of human behaviour. Of course, that is assuming that it is applied consistently with regards to the self (that women, by socialization, were permanently relegated to a submissive social role). A more idealized light over women as a social class would lead to something far more fierce, almost farcically dialectical. Imagine a world where the only path is massacre, and you'd have a picture.

Well, I'm more so talking about their stated reasons for dissociating trans women from women as a whole. Putting emphasis on "difference" alone does not an argument make, as that would undermine sociology as a whole. That's all I'm saying. :P
