Censorship is only okay if the content leads to the exploitation, harm, or threatens the life of another person. Posting pictures of assholes with ugly faces isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. It's certainly much better than /r/CoonTown and /r/GasTheKikes, which are both still up and running.

Giving comparative examples doesn't make it right. Surely you could empathize, or at the very least sympathize, with someone whose been bullied in this manner. Unless you're going to tell me that this isn't bullying.

Have you even been to that sub? The posts aren't just random nobodies, it's more often than not some asshole who needs to be taken down a peg. You're telling me you sympathize with Nancy Grace and that lady who fired her employee after she gave her a kidney?

Let's look at the front page of the sub shall we? Other than Brendan Fraser and the kid from GoT, a good 90% of these are relative nobodies. I'm not fond of that shit, regardless of how smug they appear to be.

My point about censorship still stands. Nothing forced anyone to go there, it's all in good fun. It's a slippery slope when websites start banning ideas. I'm sure a subreddit you go to when you're having a bad day and want to let off some steam will eventually get banned for not following the hivemind's ideas.

I never said I posted there or even went there. I'm only saying that censorship is wrong and that subreddit is hardly something to be concerned about. I've seen plenty of posts in other subreddits, including this one, that poke fun at someone in one way or another. That subreddit is just explicitly for that purpose.

This isn't about censorship. This is about respect for other's privacy.

You're at school or work, come to find out people gather and talk shit about you all the time. For some, they can handle it. For others, not so much.

Just because it's on the internet and users are masked under the guise of "anonymity" doesn't make this any different. Especially when it disrespects the anonymity of the ones being expended.

Nothing is being suppressed nor censored. You're bringing in a completely irrelevant argument. I'm making a very straightforward one: bullying is unacceptable. It's simple as that.
