What is GamerGate?

Our Mission

We believe that the current standard of ethics in the gaming industry is unhealthy to itself, and to gamers. We have taken notice to various conflicts of interest, and wish to address these in hopes that the gaming industry can change, in order to retain the trust of its concerned consumers.
We believe gaming is an inclusive place, and wish to welcome all who want to take part in an amazing hobby. We welcome artistic freedom and equal opportunities for creators and creations. We condemn censorship, exclusion, harassment, and abuse.
This is a community for discussion of these issues, and for organizing campaigns for reform, so that the industry can be held accountable for its actions and gamers can enjoy their medium without being unjustly attacked or slandered.

For those of you new to the table Randi Harper is the founder of the Online Abuse Prevention Initiative, you can see her publicly available LinkedIn here for more details about her background or her publicly available Patreon page here if you wish to give her financial assistance.
It would seem though that perhaps her humour, or cultural appropriation, isn't necessarily universally accepted. Apparently some of Randi's behaviours have been questionable and pulls her 'Initiative' into a conflict of interests quagmire with targeted and sustained attacks on individuals such as the President of the United States, CS Sommers and others being uncalled for and completely without merit. There are many more instances where her behaviour really bodes the question "Who watches the Watchers?".
