It's not a game of all or nothing. It's not a comparison. i'm asking people to stop using one word.

It's like when you're pulled over for speeding on the highway. You can tell the cop, "But I was going as fast as everyone else!" and the cop will tell you something like, "Yeah, but them breaking the law doesn't negate YOU breaking the law, and I got YOU."

Your criticism of the word 'retard' is arguably valid, but if you accept it's wrong for those reasons it's also wrong to use words like 'stupid' and 'dumb' etc.

Some people do find them offensive though. I mean as much as I dislike SRS they are at least consistent, words like stupid etc are banned, or at least they used to be, because they are offensive to some and considered slurs.
