If they were smart they wouldn't be juggalo's in the first place OP.

I think the music is juvenile at best, the fans are usually scuzzy-looking, and the culture is a bit silly: god sends a message to two guys in Detroit to spread the word about life and death using the Dark Carnival as an allegory.

With that said, I'll say that a) the guys in the band are pretty smart business-wise and have built a pretty serious empire b) the guys in the band have a broad knowledge of hip-hop history, which is good considering some of the dildos that hit the Top 40 these days in the genre c) the fans aren't a gang, and it's kinda dumb that we've even spent the money on the research and classification of them that way.

EDIT: The SGT in the article is an idiot for sticking his neck out for something nobody would have given two shits about if he hadn't said anything.

I don't think Juggalos are really a gang, inasmuch as a bunch of white trash retards who like to do drugs and smush their fat together aren't really organized enough to be a gang.

But I don't want anyone dumb enough to self identify as a Juggalo anywhere near the Army, so I'm all for anti-Juggalo discrimination.

Haha my brother was a juggalo for a little while. Most groups are just high school fan boys and girls who do nothing but smoke pot and listen to ICP and wear those stupid fucking hatchet man necklaces. Trust me, the only danger juggalo pose is to themselves from all the faygo they drink.

The Juggalos are no more a gang than those nerds that play Magic: The Gathering.

[–]gf37 19ポイント20ポイント  (0子コメント)

I play Magic and I've totally done a drive by. From my Stryker. In Iraq. Gangsta as fuck.

Back in the day...."games" were physical contests played outside, usually in teams. Baseball and Football if American, Cricket and Footie if British, Rugby and Aussie Rules Football if Australian, Lacrosse and Ice Hockey if Canadian.

I wouldn't even have a clue how to look up all that MTG info that /u/xsaicoticx just found.

Juggalos may not be a gang, but they are thugs, in the same way Soccer/Football affiliated clubs/groups are thugs and commit violence (and sometimes murder).

Back in the day..."games" were chess, chinese checkers, poker...

And all the other martial arts contests...

Yeeeeeeah, I think saying "games" are usually in teams and outside is pretty removed from reality.

As for the info...Google, man. All you need.

Holy shit. I was trying to read the comments on this page to procrastinate from doing my math homework, but the shit in here is so stupid that it actually hurts my head less to stare at pages of equations.

I thought Juggalos were one of the Army's key recruitment demographics.

What bothers me most is that it's a cleaver. Not a hatchet.

Copypasted this from /r/Military. Upvote, downvote, sideways vote, this is my take on ICP and Juggalos

Juggalos are definitely not a gang... Anyone who spent any amount of time around them would know that almost immediately. THAT being said, there is a clear and present element among them that is categorically on the cusp of doing something dangerous, or presenting a danger to others. I say this as a person who once would have considered himself a Juggalo.

I got into ICP in high school, bought the CD's, T-shirts, and other merch, went to shows, the whole nine. It was festive. It was fun. They threw soda all over everything (remember back in the late 90's not every concert was an EVENT). I had a blast.

In the early 2000's things changed a bit. The vibe got a little 'culty' for my tastes. I will always love ICP, but a portion of their fans absolutely creeped me out. I can't stress how crazy typing that out is. Virtually nothing bothers me in this world, yet I get creeped out by a bunch of people who share a love of a particular band with me. It is what it is.

Anywho, flash forward to my enlistment, and I've got tats everywhere. I had to get waivers for two small tats on my hand, one on the back of my neck, and I had to sign a statement saying I had no gang affiliations with the group Insane Clown Posse because I have a Hatchetman tattooed on my ankle. This was in 2009.

Take from all this what you will. Think I'm an idiot because I like ICP? Cool story, people have been hating this band for so long that their children are now hating on them too. I also listen to metal, classic rock, country, classical, and just about every other genre of music out there. I'm a voracious reader, and love to discuss books and history with anyone willing to participate.

The whole point of this is that Juggalos, while definitely on the fringe of society, are no gang. They are a group of social outcasts who take pride in themselves for that. ICP just brought them together. Back in the day the only requirement to be a Juggalo was to listen to ICP, and enjoy the occasional Faygo shower.

Classifying the fans of a band as a 'gang' or a 'hybrid gang' or whatever sets a very dangerous precedent. No one cares right now because pretty much everyone hates ICP. This would be a lot different if it was directed towards fans of say Wiz Khalifa, or Katy Perry, or some other pop artist. The backlash if that happened would be strong, whereas now all you hear are whimpers because 'fuck ICP'... Amirite?

That last paragraph is incredibly strange to read.

Fans of Wiz Khalifa and Katy Perry don't organize under banners, get tattoos of the group, name themselves, and go out and do stupid shit while yelling WIZ KALIZZLE FOR LIFE.

I read the FBI reports back in college. It's not being a fan that makes you a part of the gang, as they defined it, it's organizing in a group known for espousing violent themes, singing and rapping about doing violent things, and the occasional person acting on them.

It shouldn't be hard for you to see why that would raise eyebrows to law enforcement, regardless of the context.

I don't give a shit what you listen to, or who you "like" on Facebook. But if I can see that these groups can be problems, as "one of them", you surely must see why it can raise an eyebrow.

90's gangster rap would like a word with you.

You're just dumb for tattooing a bands logo on yourself.

You're just dumb for tattooing a bands logo on yourself.

True for every band; doubly true if the members of the band are still living and making music.
