I'm not agreeing that anyone should use racial slurs about the influx of primarily white people into Portland. Racism and xenophobia have very specific connotations with very specific roots. Being upset about the result of, primarily white people, moving to an already white and privileged city driving up property prices and displacing the residents of said city, which includes those in historically black or diverse neighborhoods is nowhere near.

The reason this line of reasoning is hilarious to me is the people primarily impacted by the increasing house prices are people below the poverty line, which disproportionately impacts PoC, women and the disabled.

To sum: anyone who thinks that people being angry about rising rents is in any way similar to racism and uses slurs to justify their very misinformed opinion is wrong.
