You're right..... because no one should ever move anywhere. Everyone stay put and stopping moving. This means you!

(BTW, lived here for 30 years. If you assume from California. No. None of that matters. Stop with the xenophobic bullshit. It embarrasses you and Oregonians.)

Settle down Mr. AssumptionPants. The comment to which you are replying pokes fun at OP's naive shock that rent goes up after housing supplies plummet. OP should be pretty aware of Portland's housing situation, after moving here just a year ago.

I may despise the action of people prepending our freeway designations with "The", but that doesn't make me xenophobic, it makes me pedantic - and isn't even germane to this issue.

I do feel okay mocking people on the Internet when they post things like this. OP is shocked at rent increases in one of the tightest housing markets in the country after moving here recently? That's a paddling mocking.

for the record, i wasn't shocked at a rent increase. i was alarmed at the percentage and wanted to know if it was legal or if i was being had. that's all. but the geniuses on this thread simply couldn't parse that from my post.

Yes. Clearly, all the dumbos in this thread missed the significant mental wizardry of your post.

You took a bit of a beating in this thread, and my early applied snark seemed to strike a chord with my fellow local idiots. I'm sorry that I snarked you. I hope you have a good weekend.

It's not xenophobic to point out that landlords are capitalizing on an increase in housing demand brought on by an increase in Portland residents.
