You manage to silently slip into a suit of armor to evade them. It's a cliche but it does the job nicely. As you reach the king's quarters you notice it's guarded by 4 knights. Having stole the diary of the Captain, you know the 3rd knight has the key, while the rest are simply guards. You create noise down the hall, enough to distract the guards attention momentarily, which is more than enough time for you to swiftly jump from shadow to shadow, snatch the key from the pocket of the guard, and slip into the King's quarters entirely unnoticed. He's asleep. This is the moment you've been trained for...your magnum opus. You step to his bedside...your fingers trail the handle of your weapon...the one handed down through the generations, meant to take town the one man who has oppressed your people for so long. This is it. Just a single quick cut against the throat in his sleep and it'll all be over. You think about your father, your grandfather, how they were never able to complete their mission.
