I can only speak from knowing about prison through ex-con friends and CO friends, but whenever I hear something like this, my first thought isn't "lol dude just can't behave" and more "dude's probably got a shitload of enemies in there."

Remember, he didn't get pinched because he mugged someone or because he ran someone over while drunk. If he's as deep as it sounds, he's probably got plenty of people who would make him need extra protection.

Our prison system is just awful for how developed we are as a country, especially for black males. Look at countries in Europe where rehabilitation is the priority and we're in the dark ages by comparison. Just recently Bernard Hopkins talked about it in the boxing documentary Champs. I'd like to see some rappers use their platform to speak on it.

The European prison systems, including the Dutch one, has a much better rate of criminals that don't return after leaving prison. For example in Norway, the recidivism rate is 20%, lowest in the world, while in the US, it's 70%, the highest.

The difference is huge.

True but its very hard to compare even with numbers honestly. We dont have comparable criminal activity. We dont have gangs really running blocks here. We got 'north africans' dealing coke and shooting up people who fuck with them but that happens once a month or something

spoilers to anyone else reading but it was that he was gay and it was revealed when he just randomly made out with tobias' on/off lover while they were both going to betray him and kill him during that play thing. i don't remember it exactly either though but it just came out of nowhere and didn't make the most sense. i mean homophobic gay people exist but like they just did it out of nowhere in front of a few people (background extras) too. If I remember correctly though that show just had a lot of misconceptions when it came to being gay.

It's not a twist that Schillinger fucks guys or knows Chris. Trying to make Toby his prag is the first thing Schillinger does as a character, and he'd done the same to a teenaged Chris in a different prison years earlier. Actually, the whole reason Chris seduced Toby in the first place was to mess with his head on Schillinger's orders. Also, if I'm remembering right the plot in the last episode turned out to be a double cross, with Chris switching out Toby's prop shank instead of Schillinger's.

As far as its portrayal of homosexuality, I don't know that I'd describe any of those three characters as "gay," because it's mostly situational homosexuality. All three had been married to women on the outside, and as far as I can tell none had homosexual experiences before prison. When it's a choice between sex with a dude and no sex, a lot of people surprise even themselves with which they end up choosing,

I don't know if he can make music from jail, it would depend on his situation and what he's willing/able to do, but a lot of music recorded in jail has made it to the outside.

Mac Dre recorded Back N Da Hood over the phone in 1992. (Example: My Chevy)

After releasing an album that was recorded over the phone in 1995 (Xorcist,) X-Raided released Unforgiven in 1999 with clear vocals... Turned out that a guard brought in recording equipment and took beats and recordings back and forth between X and Black Market Records. (Example: Macaframalama)

Then there's stuff like this, some dudes in prison recorded Murda Murda on a cell phone, it showed up online just over a year ago.
