Because apparently bad things can't happen to women in comics now? Jason and Damian dying was fine, Bruce being paralyzed was great, but Babs being shot is seemingly oppressive.

You might as well say "Fixed It!" and post a picture of a young Bruce Wayne disarming Joe Chill.

I think people are uncomfortable with the sexual stuff afterwards.

I don't agree, and think they should show a female character come back strong after such an event but that's American culture for you.

Violence is OK, so long as we don't talk about sex or naked people

There's a vaguely sexual tone to the later events, but far worse has happened to Bruce and Dick in that field.

Quiet you, men can't get raped raped silly

You SHOULD be uncomfortable with the sexual stuff, that's the point, it's supposed to be horrible.

Well, there's uncomfortable and uncomfortable and wanting to censor or change it

Wanting to censor it is bullshit

Now you're getting it! The least sexist and most exciting superheros are the ones nothing bad ever happens to. Like that one....uh...um.......and of course, who could forget.....er....that... dude? Shit, I don't know.

With those characters, they were major players in their respective stories. Barbara literally did nothing except get shot in The Killing Joke.

Edit: Am I wrong?

Edit 2: Jeez, sorry for expressing an opinion that could be vaguely construed as feminist while showing a basic understanding of story structure, guys.

She was important to the story because of her relationship with her father, who is also an important character.

Doesn't that essentially make her part of the women in the refrigerator trope though? If her being shot, exploited, and sexually harassed only happened to forward her fathers story then she herself isn't playing an active role in the story, she's supporting another character.

Her father is a man. She couldve been a precious heirloom or a dog and provides the same motivation concievably

[–]SuperCoolant 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Yes, but Commissioner Gordon does not have an heirloom or dog, particularly not one that's relevant.

The thing is, there is no constraint on what Moore could've written in to motivate Gordon. Me and many others are contending that he made a poor choice

She is a superhero trained by Batman. I think part of it is that you would think she would be able to handle one guy pulling a handgun on her.

She was surprised in the comfort of home. Besides, Batman's been shot as well.
