Seriously? Jokes like this make me wonder how people survive in places like Riker's Island, since the government employees that are supposed to protect inmates obviously turn a blind eye to the abuses happening within the penal system.

Seeing as it's coming from CO's and LEO's that shouldnt be making jokes about the things they are supposed to protect us from, I'd say yes it is an issue.

Explains why most CO's and LEO's I know are assholes though, well doesn't explain it, just further confirms it.

It came from an unverified member of a public internet forum. For all you know the person who made the meme could be your grandmother, the President or a common criminal. It's a bad joke, but is in no way proof that "cops and COs are assholes" or "government employees obviously turn blind eyes to rape."

Except if government employees didn't turn a blind eye then PREA wouldnt be such a huge issue. Hell look at the case of Kalief Browder where video shows him being stomped and beat by CO's at Riker's Island. The guy wasn't even convicted of anything for 3 years.

CO's get pleasure out of torturing inmates, not all of them, but a lot of them.

Relevant is the Stanford Prison Experiment.
