In response to Reddit starting to inconsistently censor users, whether by shadowbanning users or banning subreddits, many people are moving to alternative Reddit-like sites -- with the most popular being Voat. I expect most of you won't care about any of this, least not right now, because it isn't affecting you at this time.

As Reddit continues to go downhill, following in Digg's footsteps as some people have theorized, I expect people will start migrating away from Reddit to the point where this subreddit will not be as active, which is why I'm posting this.

I'm the mod over at /v/washingtondc and I've been seeing a slow increase in subscribed users over the last month. There isn't a whole lot of current content and I expect I'll start adding some as we start increasing in size. Anyways, I thought now would be a good time to welcome anyone contemplating leaving Reddit, maybe those looking for a newer /r/washingtondc clone with less clickbait (for the moment), or are curious about the growing trend.

EDIT: or downvote me instead. That's cool too, I guess. I mean, no one is forcing you to join, but clearly some of you have inadequacy issues and feel that potential competition must be silenced.
