Summary: Noticed a pack of wild betas following their female trainer around the gym and couldn't believe my eyes and ears. The aforementioned betas received relationship, diet, and lifting advice from a fat woman in a "trainer" t-shirt.
Typically, during my workouts, I listen to music. However, I just broke my headphones and had the unfortunate experience (this morning) of overhearing and consequently observing betas and their female trainer. These 'men'- who workout in a group - received a host of valuable guidance from their female trainer.
1) Stretching and cardio are more important than strength-training. (I don't know if she actually told them this, but it is what their workout reflected.)
- These Betas literally spent 3/4 of their 45 minute workout stretching and waddling about.
-The only real exercises they did were bench press and assisted pull-ups.
2) "Women don't really pay attention to men's bodies." (This is verbatim.)
- One of the betas asked do women prefer toned or "massive" guys, and received that as a response. He proceeded to pry and got the answer "it depends on the guy." This, was then followed by "but don't workout for others." (probably the only valuable advice she gave.)
3) "Cut down on red meats and eggs." (also a direct quote.)
- The fattest and most misshapen of the betas asked if he should up his protein intake. Said beta was then told that too much protein is bad for the heart and can lead to unwanted weight gain.
Lessons Learned: God, help us all.
