Back when eBay still owned PayPal, eBay was the only company whose job offer I rejected without even bothering to learn the details of the offer. I did not want to be associated with anything related to PayPal. But that's just me...

In any case, I appreciate the sentiment of hosting Voat outside the US. My company does the same, but mainly because of sensitive customer data we are handling. But if the site does not find reasonable hosting in Europe, they may consider NearlyFreeSpeech for uncensored hosting.

Sad to see paypal was the first to react. At least that subverse stopped openly saying child porn in okay, now they just won't remove anything until the police or admins make them. So still the same illegal content being linked to and hosted in thumbnails.

Cloudflare most likely will drop them soon as well. Their TOS doesn't require you host the illegal material just promote it which, which would include linking and subverses dedicated to it.

The admin did say to contact authorities and that he couldn't play "whack-a-mole":

If you notice any illegal content in any sub on voat, please, by all means, notify your local police department. Only authorities can decide what is and what isn't legal. We don't host any illegal content, in fact, voat hosts only text and 70px × 70px thumbnails (everything in that sub resides on youtube, imgur and other third party websites).

We don't want any illegal content and we will comply with official requests from authorities regarding removal of illegal content.

While we don't necessarily agree with everything users submit to voat, we simply don't have the resources to play whack-a-mole and we don't want to be the ones making the calls on what constitutes legal vs illegal. Let the authorities decide.

I wonder if he is regretting that at this point.

Hahahaha, Voat is done. I guess you voaters understand now that anarchy and zero rules aren't the way to go. Banning subreddits that promote hate is apparently bullshit, but child porn is all good. I'll be glad when this ship sinks.
