Oh dear, the Mises institute isn't the best place for academic lectures. It's a corporate-funded an-cap thinktank. Which is ok, but their lectures really are low-brow.

Having watched the lecture, I can say this is accurate. It's very low brow.

He begins his speech by insulting the next speaker. Then he goes on to just generally make fun of historic socialists' views on completely irrelevant topics.

His objection to socialism amounts to this: "I can't figure out how it's possible, therefore it's impossible. And besides, the socialists are dumber than I am, so they definitely cant do it."

He just cant imagine how a socialist economy could allocate resources. It's his lack of imagination that leads to his conclusion, not any iron clad "calculation" like his title suggests.
