    OP's title says "Did she read the reply?"

    The way I interpreted it, "the reply" was red commenter saying he/she can't make syrup, and "she" was the yellow commenter suggesting the red commenter do so even after the red commenter stated this wasn't possible.

    My downvoted comment suggested that the yellow commenter's suggestion was what OP intended as the facepalm – not the red commenter's typo.
