This happened in Kalamazoo. I was living there at the time and I worked with the driver's niece. All she did was ask him to sit down. His parents blame her.

Of course the parents blamed her. Little Bobby would never do anything like that.

I hate racism at all leves, and while I'm aware there's probably slightly more white on black racism than any other form out there, even in 2015, but its undeniable that the punch proooooobaby wouldn't have been thrown if the driver had been black. Not just cause she is white; I believe a hispanic or asian driver would've caught the same punch, but something about this scenario and history of similar scenarios leads me to believe the punch would not have been thrown if the driver were black.

...Now feel free to downvote me to hell and call me a racist; this is r/wtf afterall...

Is there a news story or anything about this? Was she okay? Did the kid get locked up?

I was going to make fun of you for not seeing the giant CNN on the corner but found nothing related to CNN. Here is what I found http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2009/03/boy_charged_in_assault_on_scho.html

edit: Also found http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8b4_1236287203 where it has what the parents had to say.

The parents... The fucking parents. "He's a good kid... he's got these twins in his head."

He's got these twins in his head? Oh, ok, we'll let him go with a warning this time.

He was provoked! He banged his shoulder! (even thought he didn't)

The man is utterly shameless. Even if the kid had fallen to the floor, that can never be an excuse the beat the shit out what looked like a middle-aged woman. Fucking disgusting.

this is why eugenics is a valid topic of conversation. these parents have no business being parents. it really is that simple.

maybe we should sterilize every new born baby. then, upon reaching a certain age and passing a somewhat simple exam, they are allowed to have kids.

maybe a scary thought, but i think letting idiots procreate without any sort of control is equally scary.

I am going to give you a free pass here and assume you're A: saying this in jest, or B: don't really have much background in the research of the actual application of Eugenics.

There's an old saying I used to hear when the topic came up in sociology and philosophical debates I'd have with some people while 'not low' back in my college days:

"If you support Eugenics, you must be willing to immediately forfeit your right to exist and life if you fall below the litmus.'

The issue here is that those whom support it ALWAYS believe they are 'above the curve,' when, in reality of Eugenics as it was planned in WWII era Germany, most of us would NOT pass the litmus and often it didn't matter how 'wise' or 'intelligent' one was, but was often based on physical characteristics or subjective tests of intellect.

I'm sure you meant no harm by it, but be careful throwing your support behind such a concept outside of the relatively anonymous arenas of the interwebs. You do not understand that Eugenics as it was practiced and planned would probably result in both you and I having never existed...

nice find. sadly, he'll probably be a much worse gang-affiliated scumbag upon release.

Yup, definitely a good kid. I'm sure it was the bus driver who triggered him.

The twins beat those pizza guys up. I wasn't even hungry

I remember her getting a broken finger and black eye I think.

He went to jail right?

This shit cannot be tolerated.

Of course they blame the driver, their little animal would never be capable of harming an innocent woman... Kids and parents like this serve no benefit to society.

I hope this kid gets his kzoo promise pulled.

Of course they do. It couldn't be their fault.

The parents are horrible! They say their son isn't at fault because he has "twins in his head" and because the bus driver braked too hard.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8b4_1236287203

Twins in his head? Like hes fucking crazy?

The parents say their son has been diagnosed with both bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. Read more at http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8b4_1236287203#fkO5dHH0eZdeqQAc.99

Yeah

well, if true, that's unfortunate but he needs treatment and possibly remediation to a special needs institution that is prepared to handle him, not the regular school system.

My mother is a public high-school home ec teacher and sadly sees this (to a lesser extent) all the time. She is a sweetheart and tries calling the parents to see whats going on at home and most of the time this behavior comes from low(er) income families. Its sad when these kids are pretty much set up to become violent criminals as soon as they turn 18 and their parents kick them out because they can't afford to keep feeding them.

Cool, lock his ass up in an insane asylum then for being a threat to society.

That sort of attitude is not good for society

Seriously though, getting involuntarily committed to treatment until he is stable enough for another situation is the best thing that could possibly happen to him. What will actually happen, in all likelihood, is that he will continue to commit serious crimes and end up in prison. Over half of all prison inmates have a diagnosed mental illness Prison is a terribly stressful environment, and treatment is rudimentary or non-existent. Even if there were adequate resources for mental health care, the medication has serious side effects, and many patients don't comply with treatment; involuntary confinement is not only unavoidable, it is more compassionate than prison.

edit- another commenter posted a link suggesting that he is now incarcerated for four to twenty years for a different crime. Not only would proper, mandatory treatment have asaved another victim, it would have been better for the perpetrator.

I mean...it sort of is. Removing the problem from society does, in fact, help society.

I agree totally but also having violent people smashing up people isn't either. Treat him, and let him out when he's better.

I absolutely agree. Going around suffering from multiple mental health disorders and beating people up is terrible for society.

Then why doesn't he get locked up until hes no danger for people around him?

That makes too much sense.

Mental care is a bit more subtle than that, but he definitely needs some good help if this is the result.

What an oddly worded title.

Why would they state 4 years/270 months. if they wanted to use both terms, it should be 48 months/22.5 years. Why would they use years for the low end and such a large number of months to describe the high end of the sentencing.

Or they could have said 48 to 270 months or 4 to 22 years. What the hell was the person that wrote that title thinking?!

Its stuff like this that bug the crap out of me.

Fuckin piece of shit. I don't care what you have going on in your personal life, there's no excuse to hit ANYONE unless it's self defense. good on that other guy pulling him off of her. Just senseless.

I like how he pauses after the first punch, notices she isn't defending herself or attacking him, and goes in to punch her some more.

Oh good she's not fighting back, these next punches will really increase my street cred!

You joke, but having gone to school in the ghetto as a white kid, you aren't far off. The people who talk shit the loudest are usually the ones who are the biggest pussies.

Yeah, but don't you think this is probably society's fault? And the assailant is the real victim?

I'm telling you, it's those violent video games making him act like that!

A lot of black people feet entitled to harm white people because of that whole slavery thing. Like we actually had any say

Sadly, agreeing with you makes us both racist.

Not really. It's what I've observed first hand and saying anything about it automatically makes me "racist". Seriously people c'mon.

Am I going crazy? Dude is white.

"but officer, she made me hit her!"

In certain circumstances provocation is a reasonable defence.

Probably not in this case though.

No. People make their own beds. He punched her. He knows right from wrong. Edit: Ahhh sarcasm... I need to be punched while sitting at my desk now.

(hence the "/s" for sarcasm)

My bad, I honestly thought that was a typo... Carry on the good word!

Real tough , punching an older female who was in a seated position, just doing their job. This is the same little shit who gets his ass beaten and cries about it. Should have been physically thrown off the bus, then under it.

Oh, he'll fight a cop some day, get his ass handed to him, and suddenly become an innocent victim of a racist society.

Edit:: Autocorrect

I'm sure it was a typo, but getting one's "assistant" handed to them is now my favorite kid-safe idiom

Just thinking. This is the same type of kid who would get shot by an officer and a city would burn in riots over police brutality.

yup, then we'll have some nice riots where white people are the devil and so on and so forth

I loved my bus driver, had the same one from 6th grade up until junior year when I got my licence. She was so sweet, and if I saw something like this happening to her I think I would have seriously killed the kid, what a fucking piece of living shit.

Schoolbus drivers don't get paid enough for what they have to put up with. They have to oversee 20 and 30 kids at a time. Mostly unsupervised behind their backs. I'm definitely going to give a tip to my kids school bus driver the end of school year.

There is absolutely no excuse for violence and rage like this, metal illness is not an excuse to get away with shit like this.

While it can be used as a defense or mitigation in the legal processes, that is not enough to let the boy out in public without supervision especially with the fact that he has been violent in the past.

The parent is absolutely in the wrong here, the bullshit "he must have been provoked" is fucking bullshit to the fullest. If it was the first time and he has never been violent before, I'd understand but the fact he was violent and hospitalized in the past several times for his metal condition throws all of this bullshit out.

The parent should pay for all the medical care the bus driver incurred for the injuries and the parent should be charged to supervise their kid in public at all times or hospitalize the kid next time.

Does his shirt say "No School Hustler"??

If so, fits him perfectly since there would be no school in this jackass' future.

Hope that guy is taking full advantage of the correctional system. I hope he spends time 'inside' and his freedom is taken from him and he stays for his whole sentence...

He most definitely is. He's 2 months into a 4.5-22 year sentence.

This assault was in 2009. At that point, he already had a reputation as a problem child. In the next 6 years he committed several unarmed robberies and eventually went to jail only after he established, firmly, he was a habitual offender.

This rage I have right now after watching this.

I can tell by that idiot's body language, he's a total pussy. It's too bad that old lady didn't get up and beat the shit out of him. Kudos to the kid that stopped it.

Most bus drivers can't do anything about it, nor break up fights on a bus. Something like this happened to my mom a few years ago, but not that bad. They can't do anything because of how quickly it will turn on them/be held accountable/automatic fault/lose their jobs.

which is horrible :( i work in special ed and it's a nightmare sometimes. Can't pick the kids up off the floor if they tantrum because a parent may claim sexual assault. Two people for every one kid in the bathroom. SO many false accusations.

We had a girl who was severely autistic, textbook, non-verbal. She wore the same underwear for a week. Reported it. Principle calls the mother, who comes in flipping out that someone is lying about her and accusing her of being a bad mother. I get sent to the office with the girl. Mother storms to the bathroom with her, presumably changes her undies, walks out of the bathroom with her daughter, throws away the gross undies and just walks out without a word. She wasn't back for a few weeks after that, but was always clean from then on.

Well that's a tad to far. He was charged with assault and thrown in jail and now has a felony to his name (all 100% warranted). But we don't need to live in a society that puts people to death for something that minor (it wasn't minor I just mean in relation to putting someone to death an assault charge is nothing). The kid was an asshole though.

He's an angry teenager who threw punches. Assault charges would be a reasoned response. A god damned execution would not.
