tl;dr - his daughter burned a house down accidentally and doesn't apologize and his son plays too many games. he deplores them for their behaviors.
longer take with MY skew -
dad hates his daughter because she's not very capable of mentally dealing with a huge accident she's caused. she burned a house down. it doesn't sound like this young lady's parents (mother or father) actually console her or try to teach her how to deal with such a massive mistake, though. they let her young mind stew in it without guidance. instead of consoling the dad rides her till she apologizes and assumes because he had to ride her to apologize, that she is a horrible person. he also hates his 12 year old son for being immersed in video games.
then reddit jumps on and agrees with him.
why i think this belongs on r/subredditdrama -
yes i know i picked r/offmychest and shouldn't really be shocked but what bothers me about this is the lack of parenting. kids are terrible at dealing with crazy adult situations and this "father" doesn't sound like he's doing much fathering. children play video games and burn shit down. yep - that's exactly what kids do. there are life lessons in all of this to lovingly and compassionately teach to his children but all i see is the OP ignoring this and reddit backing his bad parenting up. this is tragic! it makes me sad for the children. very very sad.
