Are you saying that just because I'm a female? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in Business, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on SubReddits, and I have over 300 confirmed shadowbans. I am trained in confirmation bias and I’m the top enforcer in all of Reddit . You are nothing to me but just another target. I will shadow ban the fuck out of you with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words you oppressive, cis, shitlord. You think you can get away with saying that privileged shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my network of discrimination lawyers across the world and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can sue you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my accusations of racism. Not only am I extensively trained in fighting the patriarchy, but I have access to the entire arsenal of triggers and I will use them to their full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you misogynistic scum. I will ask someone else to shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking banned, kiddo.

For starters, the sidebar could use a bit more formatting. That wall of text you have their is nice and all, but it could use a bit more indenting and perhaps some numbers before each point.

We could also use a few links over there or in the wiki that would explain exactly what's going on in an objective fashion. Similar to the Ellen Pao facts that were posted on here earlier. They should outline what she's done, and why she's not a viable candidate for the job.

Additionally, it would be worth looking into people that would make a good replacement for her. The person should be someone that can actually replace her. Probably someone already involved in the company. As much as I'd love Christeen Stewart to replace her('cuz y'know, she'd at least listen to other people) it's just not possible.

Just some things that would make nice goals for the subreddit rather than doing all the things.

Wanna help?

[–]DrSoaryn 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

No thanks. I think I'll leave the adminning to you guys. I'm more of a concept rather than an implementations kind of person. I guess I'm kind of lazy that way.

While I fully support this decision and the way it is being implemented, I think we should be realistic and honest here as well. The decision to do this, to sanitize the content, is presumably being supported by both shareholders, other board members and the remainder of the company. That is an inevitable evolution in the process to monetize reddit. And they have to monetize, because they took all this money from investors, and gave out all this stock. The ad hominem attacks have gone to far so they will never take any of this seriously and just ignore it all. But we can still give them a bad reputation, and we can still make fun of them and pour oil on the flames.

Those "Ellen Pao Facts" are pretty biased, and the write up that goes with it is a pretty shitty argument to make if you are being serious about wanting her to step down.

Ellen Pao is Hitler for stopping off site bullying and harassment

This whole ordeal has obviously gone completely out of control, I feel like it’s good to sit down and evaluate how we got to this point. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Imgur admins began deleting submissions from /r/FatPeopleHate

/r/FatPeopleHate got upset at this, and reacted by pulling a publicly hosted picture of the Imgur staff to ridicule them for being fat. This same image was posted on the sidebar. This has been disputed as to whether this is considered personal attacks; or it’s okay since it’s a publically available image and no names were provided (that I am aware of).

Reddit (Ellen Pao) responds by banning /r/FatPeopleHate for violating its rules of personal attacks. If they considered the group photo from Imgur to be a personal attack, then that is their justification for the ban.

Redditors believe that this deletion of /r/FatPeopleHate was unfair, and thought it was an effort to silence the largest “Hate Subreddit” to make the site more appealing to advertisers.

FPH supporters respond by flooding the front page of /r/All with swastikas & calling Ellen Pao a cunt in an effort to make the site unappealing to advertisers, so that Ellen Pao will be forced to either reinstate FPH, or endure the posts.

This ordeal brings to light information about Ellen Pao’s past, including the fact that her husband (a reformed homosexual) ran a Ponzi Scheme & that she lost a lawsuit in which she sued a former employer (for gender discrimination) for the exact amount of money it would cost to free her husband. Then threatened to appeal the lawsuit unless she was given $2.7 Million (to cover her legal fees).

Posts that bring to light this information about Ellen Pao have been swiftly deleted by the admins.

The Bottom Line:

Did FPH violate the rules of reddit and deserved a ban? Yes, a case can absolutely be made for that. Did many other subs do the exact same thing & have no repercussions? Yes.

Was FPH a hateful subreddit? Obviously, it has hate in its fucking name. Are there other subs out there that are far far worse? Definitely.

This move was because FPH fucked with the wrong people, being Imgur, who have a strong relationship with reddit.

This move was easy because it was by far the largest “hateful” subreddit. And from a revenue perspective, its difficult to attract advertisers when posts from /r/FatPeopleHate are hitting the front page (which is what differentiates it from all other hateful subs, its size).

Much of this could have been avoided if there was consistency in their actions.

Is posting swastika’s & calling Ellen Pao a cunt childish? Of course it is. But these redditors feel there is nothing else they can do to voice their complaints. They feel their subreddit was unfairly targeted to achieve higher ad revenue, and are trying to counteract that with offensive posts.

Was banning FPH an abuse of power? No, they are a private company and can operate how they please.

Is deleting all posts that point out Ellen Pao’s past an abuse of power? Absolutely, and this is something that should outrage all of reddit, not just ex-FPH members.

True. Most of everything is true, but now since we are learning about her past we currently don't think she is fit for being incharge of reddit.

4 other communities got banned as well. It's important to communicate with users and the Admin Announcement was a sloppy drive-by press release with no follow up. I'm confused as to what their vision is.

So is this place serious, satire, or just a beautiful clusterfuck of the two?

[–]vierkante 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Guys. Its not going to happen. You can see that right? Please tell me you have something better to do with your time.
