private company - IMO they can do whatever they want. They will and the site will slowly die.

It will only die if the majority of members stop viewing ads and stop buying gold.

If that doesn't happen, no one will notice or care.

A lot of Reddit users are for the censorship of differing views, just look at /r/conservative and the amount of down votes our threads/comments get from the majority of users here who are liberal.

You are absolutely right, but let's be honest this is about more than censorship or the rights of a business. This is an outcome of a long-brewing culture war that has been developing across the internet, and reddit is a huge platform for this.

Ellen Pao, reddit CEO and failed discrimination plaintiff, will soon ban me for this post. And you can forget about this subreddit. Into the dustbin of digital history we shall go.

I'm not convinced that they would go as far as banning /r/conservative.

That would be a really stupid move, "Hey everyone, we're banning all the republicans and libertarians on our site because we don't like them"

If such a thing would happen it would probably end up on fox news or the blaze or something.

I don't think anyone from rcon actually wants to go to the subs they don't like and harass people. I mean they might occasionally post to /r/politics, but I don't think any of them would actually be willing to brigade outright. I mean the social conservative subreddit is actually private, and this subreddit deals with enough trolls without drawing attention to itself.

They'd just be preaching to the choir at that point, no?

[–]Not_A_DinosaurDinosaur 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

And that's why we are losing. Because the far left is louder and more prevalent and can say whatever they want, even to the point of harassment so long as it's under some social justice banner. Meanwhile, we just sit here and try to be left in peace.

But would that make reddit more sellable or less sellable? Pao's only purpose is to maximize reddit's sale value to potential buyers. Assuming that Fox media isn't a potential buyer . . . and they surely can't be given the hatred on reddit for them . . . would other buyers even care? They might like it. They might see it as risk reduction or proper social investing.

Where will this ever end? Everybody not in compliance with liberal groupthink of "tolerance" will be a target.

But liberals are the opened minded ones! Conservatives are closed minded because they disagree with liberal ideals. Liberals are opened minded inherently, and this is proven by their ideals which are inherently good and always right!

Is a /s even necessary?

The Liberal War on Reality. There are too many victims on the left, the endless parade of victimhood.

This is not the 1950s liberal/conservative

I had a conversation with a guy about this, and he tried to argue that I would be ok with reddit being run by conservatives and censoring liberals, even though conservatives are extremely anti-censorship. He was just trying to piece together an argument that wasn't there.

His final point is true regardless. But reddit can do whatever they want with their property.

Yeah it is, but I'm still anti-censorship and i would be regardless of who is censoring.

Do you think she'd have the guts to ever shut this sub down? I can't imagine we aren't in her crosshairs.

This subreddit is on double secret probation. Liberal hamsters are on their spinning wheel, monitoring each and every post here.

FPH was likely shut down to it's size, meaning the posts would leak onto /r/all. So I doubt this sub-reddit will be in danger... unless it becomes massivly popular.

FPH had more than 150k subscribers you sniveling dbags. My god how hard is it to report a simple number.
