Wrong time for an admin to be posting on Reddit

Nahh its relevant, admins pushing buttons they aren't supposed to press!

Is it really such a good idea to make Diggs at the admins like this, in their own threads?

Just go to /r/all, they dont even know how to handle their own website

They've sparked a war with some very dedicated brigadiers, and they don't have the numbers they have, reddit is fucked. They thought the advertisers didn't like how it was yesterday, shit wait til the weekend.

If the community has shown me anything, it isn't their website.

Speaking of, https://hubski.com/ seems like a much classier alternative than voat. The discourse seems to be about on par with Hacked News. Of course it's also down right now, nobody expected the traffic, but good to bookmark for later use.

It’s great that you want to be helpful to your landlord. It would be better for me if you could come to work on time. Let me know if you think differently, but I think your job should be your priority.

-Ellen Pao to her assistant at the company she unsuccessfully sued for gender discrimination. What a bitch.

"Just don't talk about it, it'll be like nothing happened"

the dishonest, ideology-enforcement bullshit coming from the admins is disgusting

Yeah, I'm done supporting anything that might help reddit's business. I honestly had no idea that when the button ended, censorship would begin.

Welcome to the after timer

WE WANT TO DEMONIZE AND BELITTLE FAT PEOPLE IN PEACE WHY ARE YOU DEMONIZING AND BELITTLING US.

Will the next episode be about how the admins just shit the bed?

Edit: Side note, dont downvote this post or they'll b& you for 'brigading'

FUCK THE ADMINS.

ITT : Nothing about the button

admins are really out of touch at this point

I really enjoy this podcast and the way it covers stories and ideas in a personal and unique way. My favorite episodes were about the two guys motorcycling to the Arctic Circle, and the one about the Armenian Genocide.

In light of the recent attempts to censor a community built on free-expression, I think that it's time to unsubscribe.I don't share the beliefs espoused in the subreddits banned today, but I don't believe that the actions Alexis and the other admins have taken are consistent with the core principles that made Reddit great.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm referring to this.)

I'll join you in that.

Where's the button you mash to ban all the subs that hurt feelings?

So funny how the queen Alexis is quoted for saying how important the absence of community control is. Can't wait for this to all play out just like digg and we move on to the next.

I guess 10 years of fun is more than we could have hoped for. Farewell reddit, hello voat.

yo who is getting your pockets fat these days? Is Macdonald's paying you to get reddit more fat people friendly?

First Imgur bans NSFW comments and now this. I think Ya'll in this together to make reddit and imgur just corporate bitches.

STOP GIVING OUT GOLD

Actually, months ago, ironically right when project "safe places" started, a venture capitalist firm gave them 50 million dollars.

Nothing of course was said of this, but if you Digg through searches you can find it.

Remeber that a lack of gold a day keeps the badmins away!

(I'll post this here, since there isn't an episode thread yet, I don't blame them...)

I'd just like to say that I thought this episode was really interesting. Having first visited the button when it started on April 1st, and coming back every single day until it ended, I can't believe how much something that is effectively pointless can captivate so many people. I never expected the whole faction creation, vast stories and tales about imaginary ways the button was created, and the (mostly) friendly back and forth between the different flairs, pressers and non-pressers alike!

Really well done, and a great April 1st event.

P.S I'm a non-presser, I wanted to see if I could resist the temptation of the button, and I succeeded!

MAN THIS DIGG WEBSITE SURE IS NICE. I BET IT'LL NEVER FALL APART.

I've noticed you have actively avoided replying the /r/shitredditsays question. You're not going to be able to sidestep the issue forever, so why don't you simply spell out the justification for allowing a subreddit whose intent is to directly harass individuals, while eliminating a subreddit that was not intended to directly harass individuals, but struck a nerve with you or your staff.

ellen commented on it. go through /u/ekjp 's history

You should be ashamed dude, what would Aaron say? All you and your idiot fellow admins have done is destroy the site yourselves. You can't ban all the new fph subs, and you can't stop the banned users from making new accounts. You've essentially given the middle finger to some of your sites biggest supporters. There is no fixing this, this site will now be a cesspool, they will constantly brigade you with hate subs and links now, and all because you idiots thought you could control the internet. This is not ellen pao's site, or yours, or whatever company owns it, this is the interne'ts site.

Sorry to be overly technical here, but Swartz was only a part of reddit for a few months (though very important). He wasn't actually a founder - the only founders were Huffman and Ohanian.

I did know that, but thanks for clarifying it for anyone that didn't.

I don't get it, what it going on here?

Admins banned the 13th most active sub on the site along with a few others as part of a new bullshit 'safe space' rule. It's going over as well as Digg V4, with people calling to mass migrate again to voat.co.

Hm, interesting. This is pretty blatant censorship. I'd like to see the explanation. There's a lot of hypocrisy in there.

Basically they are banning subs about pictures or jokes of fat people, Most of the time it's people saying GENETICS or ITS MY RIGHT TO BE FAT,or FAT IS A DISABILITY. Baically stupid shit that would get you laughed at if you said it to ANYONE.

Anyway, The reddit admins banned the subreddit. Why? Great question.

Moving on.

They haven't however banned /r/coontown or any other subreddit which has actually done harm. /r/shitredditsays is most likely the worst of them all.

so tl;dr

Reddit admins ban fat shaming, But they allow you to be racist, post dead babies, harass reddit members (As long as they aren't fat)

Admin's banning anything they want, with zero reasonable responses as to why, showing to be hugely bias and hypocritical, just to give you the short of it.

You're never going to live this down Alexis.

This button talk is harassing me. Please ban yourself.

Go fuck yourself, you worthless piece of shit.

So I've been on a Reddit for about a year now.

In that time I've given and received enough gildings to pay for 60 hours of server time.

Obviously not the most of anyone on this site, but you've just lost yourself a lot of users like myself from your latest fuck up.

This thread just makes the fact that your team is terrible at their job all the more apparent.

Thanks for the fun, Reddit. See you on the other side.

You sound like a fat fuck

Hello knothing,

I figured you might find this useful in some way.

http://www.lemonde.fr/pixels/article/2015/06/09/un-million-de-participants-plus-tard-le-bouton-de-reddit-s-est-arrete_4650505_4408996.html

It's from a major French newspaper (Le Monde), it's talking about reddit. I suggest you turn on google translate and have a look at the last paragraph. I suppose this kind of media treatment is exactly the reason why you decided to ban subreddits. And it's totally understandable, you want to make money with this site. Though, it seems the way to do it would alienate the users who are on Reddit due to believing in its core values. I hope you can find a good compromise.

Do you know why I used to like upvoted? It's because upvoted tells the stories about the users of the reddit, who have different views different opinions and different stories. Which is the same reason I like reddit itself. However you admins are starting to take in control and try to manipulate your users. Which is close minded which is arrogant which is ignorant.

Oh woah, hey, cool, the button! Yeah, that shit was so cool that it totally made me forget about that.... thing I was totally mad about? What was that again?

Said no one in the comments.

So I've been checking these episodes out for the last month. Overall, quite enjoyable. I have two main pieces of feedback:

1.) I really don't like hearing interviews with people over the phone. The sound quality kills it for me. Skype is an improvement, but even that is sketchy. I get better sound quality hearing people over a Ventrilo server. Surely you can figure something out.

2.) The theme song, sounds like it was ripped straight from Phillip Phillip's "Home."

no one gives a shit about this ad platform masquerading as a half-assed "production." don't you have sensitive feelings to go protect?

I saw your picture in fatpeoplehate

How about making Ellen resign or get her idk fired, and stop censoring reddit instead of posting this shit? Voat.co!

dumbass admin
