Slippery Slope.

No, not really. Nobody really cares but a vocal, deranged minority for the reasons you outline above.

We had our outlet which got taken down. That sucked and made some people mad but what really brought support for our cause was that fact that we were censored for no good reason. People aren't too keen on censorship and that has led to people with no ties or even a negative opinion of our thread to question why and has been met with hostility by the mods making more people angry.

That very interesting. Wow.

They were posting pictures of imgur employees in retaliation for imgur banning them. This wasn't even premeditated.

Like, FPH knew this would happen at some point and were prepared to retaliate.

The support comes from 2 places. Since reddit took away the FPH clubhouse, the subscribers are no longer contained to one place and they're pissed so they're vocal. The other half are of the "I don't like what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it" variety. These people don't appreciate that reddit promotes itself as a place where people can exchange ideas and then censors ideas that it doesn't like/results in bad PR. The amount of fat hate on reddit hasn't changed, it's just been brought to the forefront.

Why? Because today, it's fatpeoplehate. Tommorow, it's your favorite sr

I get it, slippery slope fallacy.

Also Known as: The Camel's Nose.

Description of Slippery Slope

The Slippery Slope is a fallacy in which a person asserts that some event must inevitably follow from another without any argument for the inevitability of the event in question. In most cases, there are a series of steps or gradations between one event and the one in question and no reason is given as to why the intervening steps or gradations will simply be bypassed. This "argument" has the following form:

Event X has occurred (or will or might occur). Therefore event Y will inevitably happen. This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because there is no reason to believe that one event must inevitably follow from another without an argument for such a claim. This is especially clear in cases in which there is a significant number of steps or gradations between one event and another.

Examples of Slippery Slope

"We have to stop the tuition increase! The next thing you know, they'll be charging $40,000 a semester!" "The US shouldn't get involved militarily in other countries. Once the government sends in a few troops, it will then send in thousands to die." "You can never give anyone a break. If you do, they'll walk all over you." "We've got to stop them from banning pornography. Once they start banning one form of literature, they will never stop. Next thing you know, they will be burning all the books!"
