            I got gilded twice, once 3 months ago or so in an /r/atheism post by OP for calling out a guy that commented, and second this one time just now... I just should stop commenting and posting, and see how reddit falls without talking, I can do that.

            As for jumping ship, I'm not doing that 100% now because voat's servers are shitty atm, and I want to see how this ship crumbles, from an /r/all perspective. But as soon as they get better servers I'm out. I still have voat on another tab though, and I never had any other tab open apart from gmail.

                  For some ads show up even if they are using AdBlock because reddit is on their non-intrusive ads lists. To turn this off you have to go to:

                  Adblock > "Filter lists" > uncheck "Allow some non-intrusive advertising"

                  This includes reddit's sidebar ads and sponsored links!

But otherwise they may be in the sidebar below where rules/moderators of subreddits typically are listed and the sponsored links are in a box above posts on the frontpage (and someones on some other pages IIRC but I've had adblock on for a while now so my memory is hazy).

                  It's possible you have an adblocker you forgot you installer or maybe you've been given gold? Apparently gold users don't see ads!

                                                  I had an exception in adblock for reddit. After seeing this post, it is now removed.

                                                  I disliked fatpeoplehate, if only because I didn't see why they were so preoccupied with a specific demographic of people. Ive only known a few obese people in my life, and they were nice.

                                                  That said, banning the subreddit is complete overkill. I dislike censorship like this. Down-voting posts and comments works pretty well.

                                                  Depending on how reddit handles this, it could very well lead to a mass exodus of the site. Similar to digg 6 years ago when they introduced a site change to generate more revenue. Censoring the users on this site is a step in the wrong direction.

                                                  Advertisers pay per click. If your ad went from 100 clicks and 15% adoption to 100000 clicks and .005 adoption you'd probably find somewhere better to advertise.

                                                  Which is why if you want your competitors to suffer, click on their Google ads. It's $0.50-3.00 per click. The thing is they can detect abuse, but that still falls on the website and with Google , theyll simply revoke your adsense account.
