Banning harassment subreddits is understandable. Not banning SRS in the process really grinds my gears.

I'm surprised there isn't an /r/Isis Oh wait, there is. How about an /r/isil--Wait... yup. I just type in "kill" after /r/ and I find quite a few other "hateful" subs. Reddit just wanted to slay the giant, and hope everyone else ignores the other pestilence on this website.

Then again, what happens to a containment board being "cleansed" seems to be the contained taking residence in the mainstream. We'll see more FPH in mainstream reddit and other websites.

Going back to the argument of "the behavior, not the idea" being banned. Sometimes they both go hand-in-hand. I'm not a FPH user, though I do sub to fatlogic and other "problematic" subs that aren't bastions of harassment. I just want to see reddit be consistent in its actions. Hell, even if it meant banning SRD, Popcorn Stand and this place.

And though it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to defend them, SRS srd both ban users who use those sub as a platform to harass.

This was the exact same reaction everyone had when they banned /r/niggers, /r/jailbait, /r/CreepShots, etc. There was a small shit storm not too long ago about a small transphobia subreddit that got banned too and used this exact same reasoning.

My guess is they're tackling these places one at a time.
I don't think /r/Coontown or /r/RapingWomen are "safe" so to speak.

SRD at least takes some action to stop brigaiding and harassment. FPH encouraged it at every turn.

Funny enough, I was just noticing that the comment section in (what SRD has dubbed) "The Fattening" threads for here, SRD and circlebroke are fairly identical. Even SRD asks about banning of metasubs. Can't we all just hold hands while we watch the FPHaters cry and suck their thumbs? This is the greatest drama of our lives. Better than the outing of ViolantAcres. Better than when SRS actually had teeth, and down voted everything. Better than the banning of memes from r/funny. This is the holy grail oh drama. Let's all bask in it's radiant glory, share popcorn like brothers, and watch this butter orgy until we get kidney stones from the salt. Dra-men.

I would say this would set off an arms race of false flags and accusations about harassment, but the admins have been slow or have not responded at all to a few of my reports and questions in the past, and I know I'm not alone in that.

It'll be the groups that already have the ears of the admins that wield this new power.

I think they're trying to pull a Twitter and cash out with an IPO. Twitter support is also notorious for silencing 'Wrongthink' while turning a blind eye to harassed/threatened users who don't have the 'right' politics.
