I agree, but it's much sadder when it's unexpected and undeserved versus someone who ignores every medical professional and believes that being fat doesn't have any health detriments; especially if they try and peddle that bullshit to others. That's not at all a good idea. A lot of people see /fatpeoplehate as a bunch of hateful bastards anyway, no reason in giving them an actually good excuse to hate us. The only way I can see this being fixed is finding another existing subreddit with a similar purpose, or finding out a way to make another with a little more strict of a privacy policy.

I see what you mean. But I'm just saying, if Reddit is smart, they'll just un-ban and give us back our forum to express our opinions. If they don't, there's going to be site-wide shitstorm in some way or another.

As previously mentioned by other users, the fact that reddit has the audacity to ban this sub, while maintaining that such subs as /r/CoonTown and /r/GasTheKikes are perfectly acceptable, just makes reddit look bad in-general. A lot of users, no matter what subs they frequent, will probably just stop using reddit altogether when they start seeing this kind of B.S. That's gonna be fantastic news for any/all similar competing websites.

Just think of the headlines... "Reddit.com selectively censors and bans the sub /r/fatpeoplehate, but perfectly-willing to host the subs /r/CoonTown and /r/GasTheKikes". People will quit reddit, potential new users will decide not to join, Investors are gonna panic like crazy and pull out, advertisers are going to pull out, and reddit.com will become a laughing stock of the internet for wasting their company and letting a competing site rise overtake it due to their own stupidity.

Me too! I was 135-140lbs browsing that sub, and now I'm down to 125! My boyfriend was at 200, and now down to 170! Yeah, /r/loseit, and /r/fitness is great, but it wasn't the motivation that we needed, oddly. Sometimes it takes a lot of people to yell in your face that you need to get your shit together for progress to be made.

Hell no. My boyfriend couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath. I worked out in front of him, insisting that he come and join. He never ran or walked with me, never made better food choices either. I never said anything mean, but I tried to encourage the weightloss. It never happened. It took some rough encouragement from browsing the text posts on FPH to get his ass in gear, honestly.

Stories of nurses who work in the ER, people on the bus complaining about not giving up their seat for a rude fat person, previous fat people who now feel so much better that they are healthy and thinner, and those generic hate posts about anything they encountered that day.

Not saying that FPH was a beautiful and encouraging sub. That wasn't their goal. However, there are some of us lurkers that used that sub for weight loss inspiration and to get us out of that fat logic, oddly.

This sort of censorship is setting the precedent for Reddit going forward. Reddit has outgrown its Internet shoes and now being politically correct (read: catering to butthurt fat fee-fees) has taken precedence over the freedom of speech. This glaring example of cognitive dissonance should illustrate the collective brain power of the Reddit admin teams. Banning /r/fatpeoplehate and continuing to allow /r/askHAES along with a slew of other subreddits that directly promote physically unhealthy lifestyles, subs that promote violent depictions of minorities dying (/r/WatchNiggersDie), and subreddits that depict gore and violence against animals (/r/HurtingAnimals) is a glaring indictment of the reality that admins are just bowing to angry fatties who got their feelings hurt.
