Not really. If you run a discussion platform and you ban opinions you disagree with because "your feelings are hurt", you do serious damage to the ability to engage in meaningful discussions on that platform.

Check out a Reddit alternative a team of developers and I am building, it's called Frisbee and is the first decentralized social aggregator: http://get-frisbee.com/ It's also going to be open-sourced, and if any programmer would like to lend a hand and contribute to its code, shoot me a PM.

It fixes the problem with Reddit because it is decentralized, and communities are responsible for their actions, rather than being censored by a centralized entity. A decentralized network (like how Bitcoin functions) is the only solution, since every social site is going to censor content if it's held on their servers and are technically under their ownership.

Voat.co doesn't fix the problem about censorship, though. It's just like what Reddit was during the Digg exodus. Because it's centralized (like Facebook, Reddit, and countless number of social media sites), if the admin went haywire, you're essentially being under his control and possible censorship. Right now, you're just trusting their word. Nothing prevents them from removing posts.

The only real solution is not a Reddit clone, but a decentralized network that functions in a similar way to Bitcoin, where all the content is dispersed and owned by users, rather than on a massive server where the users are a product. There is a glitch where it redirects to another site called Blazr. I'm fixing it atm.
