I think they're justifying using ad-block to watch "skeleton"-made content to deprive them of ad revenue while also keeping abreast of their evil plots.

They're talking about using archive links to view the stuff they're angry about without actually giving page views to the site hosting the content.

There's an argument to be made both ways, and it can depend on the context. For instance, I think it's entirely appropriate for sites like Return of Kings, simply because it's generally designed to be outrageous enough to drum up pagehits and also it's utterly disgusting. Conversely, if you have authors on blogs responding to each other over something like the Hugos, it may be good manners to actually link the post you're responding to directly. Of course, there's still a limit; I see people fairly consistently denying Vox Day pageviews for much the same reason they do it with Return of Kings.
