Nope, he did fine. He was running around and leading the whole time.

How do his paws not get raw and sore? Do you have special hiking boots for your dog? Because that's fun to imagine.

The trail from 12,000 to 12,800 is mostly dirt. From 12,800 to the summit, it's still snow covered. I check his paws at the summit and back at the car and he doesn't get cuts or scrapes on them.

Thanks. I always bring lots of extra water for him on anything above treeline. He regularly comes running with me between 8,000-10,000 feet and generally leads the way.
