They are using rudders + rotors. The rudders allow them to pass the copter limit and the rotors allow them to have propulsion at higher height.

Thanks, I will experiment with this.

It's an exploit. Please don't do this.

Is there a ruling on that? I've bitched about it myself, but sometimes the fastest way to get something fixed is to abuse it until they have to do something.

Lol my flatmate just said the same thing to me. Yeah, fair enough. Go abuse it and let's hope they fix it.

In my experience, to make a bot light enough and have enough propulsion up, you really have to lack in other areas~ probably armor, also stability after dmg.

I had a bot that worked at the top of the cieling, but it was only good in classic. Once people know to look for you, you were doomed. Especially if there is a rail.

For this reason i wouldn't call it an exploit. It has it's downsides.

Sure it has downsides - it's still an exploit. I was in a match with a guy using this exploit. We had no smg in our platoon, no rail in our team. He just stayed above towers and capped them. When everyone was overclock 12-13, he was at 5. I came THIS close to warning him for it.

Exploit is exploit and goes against the rules, downsides or not.

I don't think it's an exploit. It cannot go above the physical roof of the game. A bot simply needs enough lift to get that high.

It can, however, go above the limitation set for that movement type, because of a bug. Therefore, exploit.

You can also hit the ceiling with hovers/wings if you don't use thrusters. That one is very impractical, but it's a bug nonetheless, and if you were able to abuse it somehow, it'd be an exploit all the same.

The ceiling copters are an exploit in the same manner.

Sure there's a limit for rotors alone, but using helium and thrusters can get you over that limit. Doesn't sound like a bug to me.
