I still can't believe every single sentaor, congressman, media pundit, and news anchor isn't all the fuck over this. This is fucking insane. How the fuck can you vote on secret legislation? How the fuck can you put a gag order on any open discussion? For FUCK'S sake..........what in the holy shit is going on in this country?

This should be a bigger deal than anything this idiot has ever done. EVER. And all it gets is casual references in muted tones in between the local/national sports nonsense and that guy who wants to cut his dick off.

This country has lost it's shit. Utterly and completely. Just start practicing your Mandarin now, because that's going to be the new language of business in the not too distant future.

I'm no Obama supporter. The reality is the Senate is kept in the loop on the negotiations. And it will become public when they are ready to vote on the trade agreement. The "open discussion" is a bullshit hyper liberal protectionist strategy to derail any trade agreement. They wanted to be able to add amendments while the multi-nation countries are still negotiating. Then they wanted a 60 day freeze on any agreement while there is open discussion about the amendments. This is an indefinite stall tactic. If you're against any agreement being made at all you would support this.

Why are the Republicans not saying shit? Because they are kept in the loop and they are mostly happy with the agreements being made. And not all the agreements will make it to the final cut. So allowing open discussion on stuff that won't even be relevant in the final bill is a waste of time and energy. Now if they don't allow open review on the bill before it is voted on, then you should be upset and screaming.

Disagree. It gives the people adequate time to contact their representatives to express their views and desires. Furthermore, the fact that it's CLASSIFIED is beyond ridiculous and simply an egregious breach of transparency that flies in the face of everything that a democratic republic stands for.

Literally having a gag order on discussing this bill with the American public is beyong reprehensible. There is no reason for it other than to keep the people from knowing what's in it. That's the ONLY reason they are doing it. Because if it's only the Congress that knows what's in it ---- then they only have to assuage a few people. This is disgusting beyond any explanation. There is no justification for this.

You cannot have a functional republic of the people, by the people, and for the people ---- if you are legislating in secret, voting in secret, and communining in secret. These are the things politburos and star chambers do in communist countries and banana republics. This is NOT democracy. This is not liberty. This is tyranny.

Rand Paul is pushing to make it public. At least from what I have read

Now watch the media run constant stories on the 'trader' Obama to conflate the terms.
