I think its just awful that Rob Schneider makes Mexican day laborers choke him in the shower while he masturbates.

Still more credible than Gawker.

And still a better love story than Twilight.

You mean a werewolf falling psychically in romantic love with an in-utero half-human/half-vampire barely-conceived foetus is creepy?!

Finally a rob Schneider movie I'd actually watch

Rob Schneider is... choking his carrot!

Wild accusation that is smugly assumed as fact without a single source and the person accredits the down votes to fan boys. Hilarious.

The gawker articles were bad even by gawker standards.

Sorry you hate Gawker but that doesn't mean that everything they post is garbage.

Is this the equivalent of refuting a post with "a stopped clock is right twice a day"?

If you accuse everyone of being a rapist, surely one of them will turn out to have assaulted someone at some point, right? It's all good!

I was wondering when we'd see a bit of the Louis CK drama--after that podcast from Jen Kirkman I expected more fallout and slapfights.

That's because every link about it has been mostly downvoted. And for good reason because it was a terrible article especially when you see the writer soliciting tips from the comments. I found out about it first on neogaf and the reddit thread it was first discussed on was here on /r/opieandanthony .

Here are other threads about it [1] [2] [3]

Yeah, I read about it on the AV Club a while back and decided to put it out of my mind until any significant evidence came to light.

That's how all allegations about people should be treated, particularly when they're reported by a gossip website known for creating stories out of nothing.

[–]canti28 12ポイント13ポイント  (15子コメント)

What happened in this podcast?

[–]cxpx 30ポイント31ポイント  (3子コメント)

On her brand new podcast - http://iseemfun.libsyn.com/ - Jen Kirkman attacks Jezebel/Gawker and other bloggers saying their reports are inaccurate. It's around 14 minutes into episode 95 and recommended. Of course none of these bloggers have updated their articles accordingly.

Gawker and that article seem like pretty shitty journalism, considering what /u/cxpx linked to.

Nobody, including that Jezebal site or whatever asked Jen Kirkman about the events or took into consideration the context of what she said. It's unfortunate she tried to make a point about how a boys club mentality can lead to uncomfortable decisions just to get her comments twisted like that.

That deathandtaxed article took something Jen said out of context and linked it to anonymous accusations made by gawker.

At least Gawker apparently asked one of the victims what happened but was told

When we contacted the victim to check out the story, she wrote back: "first of all, your facts are wrong. and secondly, i don't want to be a part of this story. i'm sure you understand." When we asked her which facts were wrong and if the incident ever happened at all, she wrote: "please don't contact me about this matter anymore. Breast of luck to you."

"Breast of luck to you"... I hope that's just an unfortunately mistake.

And one of Gawker's sources is a commentor on their article? Really?

Those 2 gawker articles and that deathandtaxes are examples of awful fucking journalism and don't do anything to convince me of the legitimacy of their claims.

If he has done something that awful he deserves to get called out for it, no question. But those articles are so awful, driven by out of context quotes and containing such legitimate sources as commentators from their online article that they do a diservice to the victims if what they're saying is true.

If those victims exist they deserve a lot better than this trash journalism. As is it seems easy enough to dismiss the claims as bullshit rumor mongering.

I feel like I'm reading The Onion.

This. I know I'm biased cuz I'm a fan of Louis CK, but these articles really don't "prove" anything and are just based off of some "inside guy"'s e-mails and Kirkman who didn't even name the guy. (plz don't be true, I will be so fucking pissed and disappointed if it is ;-;)

[–]ComedicSansThis is good for PopCoin 4ポイント5ポイント  (0子コメント)

Nobody, including that Jezebal site or whatever asked Jen Kirkman about the events or took into consideration the context of what she said.

You mean they don't practice journalistic standards that a Journalism 101 student would know? Fuck this "asking the person for comment" noise.

[–]canti28 3ポイント4ポイント  (2子コメント)

Oh I definitely agree, but from Kirkman's description she could hardly be referring to anyone but Louis, and even if she's not talking about the same incident Gawker is referring to she's certainly referring to something shitty.

Then again, one of the commenters on that article is claiming that Kirkman was angry about this article on Twitter but that tweet seems to have been deleted, so I don't know that the fuck is happening.

Certainly not enough concrete info for me to lend any credence to the rumors but enough that I'm worried this might blow up into something more substantive in the future, which would suck.

[–]suissetalk 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

but enough that I'm worried this might blow up into something more substantive in the future

This will almost certainly happen. It's already happening.

[–]dothemath 3ポイント4ポイント  (0子コメント)

who claimed to confront the comedian about his rumored history of forcing young female comics to watch him masturbate

On the next Outside Amy Schumer...

[–]TheLadyEve 4ポイント5ポイント  (0子コメント)

She didn't even name names, she just referred to some inappropriate sexual behavior and used a few descriptors that could be Louis CK.

Well, TIL Gawker is extremely unpopular on Reddit, even on SRD.

I flick through their shit for a laugh sometimes. They do a lot of trash, but some genuinely good pieces as well (which are funded by the trash, I guess).
