It was believed he was texting based on a photo were his left hand is shown raised. Other images show it was a cigarette he had in his hand. Phone records were seen by the police which prove he was not texting.

What if he didn't finish sending the text?

He could have been reading anything on the phone or doing a google search for "what kind of dress looks good on a 6'2" trans"

Look pal we don't need your facts around here

Apparently smoking, not texting.

Smoking in the car? Gross

There's a legal distinction between murder and manslaughter for a reason.

Exactly this, and people on here are refusing to differentiate between the two. Yes he made an horrible choice and someone died from it, but legally he didn't murder them.

Machiavelli advocates a Prince do all the evil he needs to to gain his throne all at one and then change his name and rule as much as he can without evil so the misdeeds are forgotten, much like how Octavian became Augustus.

[–]Repost_Hypocrite 7ポイント8ポイント  (2子コメント)

But he also says, only of its neccassary. Unneccassary evil will do more harm than good to the prince.

Really, everyone should read The Prince. Then they would know it is better to kill a whole family then take their property.

But be nice to the neighbors.

Here is what the linked meme says in case it is blocked at your school/work or is unavailable for any reason:

Bad Advice Mallard

Post Title: We didn't forget Caitlyn

Top: IF YOU MURDER SOMEONE WHILE TEXTING AND DRIVING

Bottom: JUST HAVE A SEX CHANGE, THEY'LL CALL YOU A HERO

I certainly forgot

Haha I'm not sure why people are getting downvoted for pointing out that there is a difference between involuntary manslaughter and murder. Nobody is defending his actions, they're only pointing out that by legal definition he didn't murder anyone.

I think most people's thought, or at least mine, is that if he/she wasn't so famous, that any normal person would be in jail / shunned. But because of her/his idolized fans he/she walks free and no one has a second thought about what happened.

I agree that her fame probably influenced her consequences. It's sad that a regular person most likely would have received a harsher punishment.

He didn't murder her. It's called an accident. Should he have been following so close? Absolutely not. But I'll guarantee you, and everyone of us who drive, have.

I drive that patch of road every day to work and it's easy to see a quarter mile ahead... the accident required some seriously negligent driving.

I drive that patch of road a few times per week, and I agree. But there are still times when you're just zoning out, which all of us do, and you end up "going with the flow" of traffic, and it is easy to go on auto-pilot.

He made a mistake, caused an unfortunate accident that took someone's life. He did not murder the lady.

With that logic, the Hummer that she slammed into head-on, murdered her, since that's the impact that proved fatal, not the rear-ending.

And I'll guarantee you that people who don't have the kind of money and popularity he has wouldn't have gotten off so easily. My brother is in jail for causing an accident because he was following too close, and he wasn't even texting/smoking. He was simply following too closely, the exact situation that Ms. Jenner was in. And in my brothers case, she didn't even die, she just broke her leg.

He hasn't gotten off with anything yet.

Under California state law, he wasn't doing anything wrong except following too close; he wasn't texting, and smoking certainly doesn't distract a driver.

Following too close is not a criminal act. And the two step-kids who came out of the wood-works, are clearly trying to cash in, which they have absolutely no ground to stand on. Hell, they haven't seen the woman, or talked to her, in what, 20+ years? And suddenly, they were "dependent" on her? It's an obvious money grab on their part.

Also, you can bet his insurance will be covering the costs of all four vehicles involved. He'll have to deal with increased insurance rates just like the rest of us do. Again, he's not getting away with anything like you're attempting to claim.

Now, go ahead and give us the full story about your brother's accident, including every single detail, including the state it happened in, what was distracting him, whether he was really speeding, texting, drinking, playing Angry Birds, etc., and we can start determining whether you're trying to compare two situations that can actually be fairly compared.

in jail for a traffic incident/citation? I feel like there's more to this story or the woman who was injured had a ridiculously good lawyer.

[–]-Ahab- 1

Especially in Los Angeles. Do I want to follow 3/4 of a car length behind you? No. But, if I leave more any more than that, the asshole in the next lane over will cut me off and and [best case scenario] I'll be wearing my morning coffee all over my shirt.

Good point. I think it would read better if OP's meme said "If you kill someone...". It was an accident, yet probably a preventable one if he was paying closer attention. I think the main point of OP was making was that we all kind of forgot that it happened altogether in light of recent events, I know I was certainly not thinking about it.

The comments on here just get more and more funny and ridiculous as this post continues. People have pointed out multiple times now that the OP used the incorrect term, but he continues to refuse to admit that. It's very obvious the the OP doesn't really care that what he has said is inaccurate, he is simply listening to his emotions while ignoring the facts.

Get your facts straight, it was an accident.

If he was poor he'd be in jail for years, I guarantee it

What good will it do if we throw her in jail for it now? The familes have already been financially compensated.

Damn women drivers...

Someone changed all the his to her on Bruce Jenner's wikipedia page.

That is wikipedia's policy.

ITT OP gets rekt.

I don't don't know what he means, and at this point I am to afraid to ask, except I'm not huehuehue

Op is trolling. His name is SimpleEmotions and he is arguing based off of emotions. Well played op. Well played.
