I'd strongly suggest against it. Fraternities at Clemson are fraught with stereotypes, bad behavior (even for frats), and controversy. There is a ton of negative stigma associated with joining one. I'd strongly suggest instead seeking out a club/student organization that you're associated with-- for example: WSBF if you're a more social, music-loving, hipstery type, or an intramural sports team if you're so inclined. There are a ton of options.

Personally, I ended up joining the Society of Physics students as a Freshman Physics major, and by the time I hit Senior year I was the president. A little bit of work and motivation got us to nearly 100% departmental undergrad membership. Not only did it help students grow great academic connections (which is essentially required for Physics, you're not going to lone wolf that shit), but we threw some ridiculous parties and I made some great friends.
