That is a pretty cool image!

Thanks. but please, share it around as much as you can before I'm shadow banned.

You made it yourself?

I did, but I confess I stole the tank. I can't draw that well, asyou can see.

Hey guys. I was the mod. I tried to rescue the sub by submitting to redditrequest, but was immediately blocked because this particular account is too new.

The thing is, the only thing the sub had going for it was the name. No subscribers that I recall, and only myself as a mod. It wasn't banned until I linked it earlier today. There was no direct criticism of Pao, reddit, anything or anyone else. This is clearly censorship it the worst possible form. Truly disappointing.

I recently registered /r/ImpeachPao. Looks like I'm next.

You will not be forgotten.

Hanlon's Razor.

This is clearly censorship it the worst possible form. Truly disappointing.

It's moronic but considering the banned subreddit page outright says

most likely this was done automatically by our spam filtering program.

You can as easily attribute this to stupidity rather than malice or any purposeful actions at all. Like you said, there was literally no content to the subreddit. Nothing to get any admin's attention.

It sounds like you fell victim to an automated "this user is literally 7 days old, TRUST NOTHING THEY DO EVER" system. Apparently whoever decided to make the banned page say

if you feel the ban was a mistake, please submit a link to our request a subreddit listing

Didn't even once consider that r/redditrequest having the same system to autoban accounts that are new would put people in a catch-22.

So you created a new account, a new sub with it and advertized it under your mod account on a different sub. Sounds like what a spammer would do and the banned sub message even says it is most probably due to being mistaken as spam.

I doubt this is the case though considering how many threads have been removed from all across Reddit any time there's a new article about her.

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone here gets quietly shadowbanned from the defaults.

Chairman Pao needs to go!

Let the creation of art satirizing Pao begin. Humorous images subverting her authority will be the most potent weapon to restore freedom of speech on Reddit and get her kicked out.

I'll start, with the following subreddit header image: https://i.imgur.com/neoCwyk.png

fyi

https://voat.co/v/Redditinaction

has that as their banner.

Oh that's right, I couldn't recall who contacted me for it. Nice

I don't get it... if she wants to silence the critics, maybe she should stop sucking at her job? The servers are still a joke, there's still way too many mods and admins who are bullies from behind a computer screen, and deleting everything just pisses people off more.

maybe she should stop sucking at her job?

You'd think a CEO would put aside personal convictions and emotions in order to allow their company to prosper.

Apparently she didn't suck hard enough or she would've gotten those promotions she fucked so hard to get

I kinda remember this subreddit having very few submissions and a single mod today. What happened?

Probably because of the new harassment rule.

If so, that'd be utter bullshit. Satire and criticism of public figures does not constitute harassment. By that definition, it'd be illegal to criticize any politician, CEO, governor, mayor, or nutjob who wants to shut down speech just because she disagrees with it.

So I'm guessing those disenfranchised will flock to political subreddits and they will be shut down. Essentially Pao grabbed everything that made Reddit the cash cow that it is today and is butchering it for her own (and fellow destroyers of this site) agendas. For someone to be a CEO, this doesn't seen economically wise in the long term. I guess hubris got the best of them. That said, I wish the best to the new (and hopefully long term free speech defender), and perhaps only, competitor Voat.

Just come to voat, we'll welcome you :)

When I first read this writing on the wall in February I joined Voat. It's been growing nicely. I recommend it

It is sad for Reddit. It really grew into a really fantastic place where everyone had a niche to discuss and chill. The worst thing is that the arrogance of Pao and the SJWs will never allow them to understand their participation in the decline of the influence of this site; especially with how Pao stated that no boycotting, rallies, or critiques of public figures would be accepted (as free speech is one of the ways to entice traffic online, like Twitter), especially since a website's survival is to be better than the competition. I barely found out about Voat and have gotten my feet wet over there. It is sad it came to this, but things change over time. Reddit's peak just slowed down quicker than it should have.

Someone needs to start that subverse on voat.

Don't forget this is the same site where you can't post emails of company officials or organize a boycott.

Well you can...as long as the target is SJW-approved or benefits a corporation. Remember "The Rally To Restore Sanity?" We did it, Reddit!

or benefits a corporation

And that depends on which corporation, since it might not meet the approval of the overlords and hivemind mentioned above.

Why do you hate safe spaces?

[–]diversity_is_racism 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Satire and criticism of public figures does not constitute harassment.

That's correct. But when people act as a herd like SJWs, attacking any is an attack on the Borg itself...

I can't wait til reddit crashes and burns and everyone migrates to a better site.

I keep hearing about https://voat.co/ it's shame no ones really on it.

[–]I_hate_comma_splices 7ポイント8ポイント  (2子コメント)

The grammar and quality of the comments on voat are, unfortuantely, much worse than on reddit. Moreover, the website seems to be full of self-congratulatory posts talking about how much better voat is than reddit.

While I love the idea of voat, in practice it is not living up to what it could be.

Sadly I don't think it will survive. It has to build a population naturally.

Since the right-leaning subs and users are being affected/reacting the most naturally Voat's userbase is right-wing and reactionary to the shit that's happening on this site.

Unfortunately that bias is really going to affect the migration of more moderate users, especially since a large portion of its growth was from the GamerGate controversy.

I'm dyslexic, so that's more of a positive for me Comma splice!

If you come that is one more person, and some people may follow you .

I use it a lot, it's great. I don't care about the low population, the big stories still get a decent amount of upvotes and discussion on controversial topics is actually allowed and uncensored, unlike here on reddit.

If it wasn't just a blatant rip off of Reddit it would gain traction.

You have to innovate to succeed, take the concept and redefine it.

If you limp into the market with a clone of a wildly successful brand you will fail because the successful brand already has the market share.

Redditors don't want to leave, they want Pao to exit. Until the day to day usability of Reddit is severely affected they will stay complacent.

Reddit would have to suffer a Digg level fuck up for a mass exodus to occur and a similar site to gain.

The day to day usability IS severely affected, there's constant propaganda and advertisements on the front page all the time. It's just not as blatant as it would take to get the majority to notice.

And I disagree. Websites, specifically forum sites, copy layouts all the time and succeed. It's the community and management, not the layout, that judges the sites overall potential to be successful.

Its gonna be like Dota/league soon... mentioning one while on the other is an auto mute + filter

[–]diversity_is_racism 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Not long. They should just rename it HugBox.com and throw in the towel.

I imagine cause go1dfish was spamming up his accounts with bitcoin addresses. Or did he stop that?

He stopped that once he got 3 (and now 4!) accounts of his shadowbanned.

Though, occasionally he'll still do it in the /r/Oppression subreddit, which is pretty annoying.
