I thought the parody was great. Not fall down funny, but good.

"Let's watch the millionaires play their child's game while the fans binge-drink"

That's perfect. It shows how ridiculously stupid most all major sports are --- and I used to be really into the Big 3 in the US, but I kind of stopped giving a fuck about it like Key and Peele. Watch the millionaires play a child's game.

It really hit the mark, and the people who can't see that are "in too deep" and want to talk shop about basetball particulars. The whole premise of the skit was that the whole concept at large is ridiculously stupid.

Nah, I mean the premise is CLEAR it's just not well executed. They're obviously just easily pandering to people who think like that, just like political "comedy" which is usually just a comedian yelling his views with no jokes and the audience going on and on about "what a comedic genius!!1!"

Well, to be fair the conservatives are the real jokes.

One of the smuggest things I've ever seen posted on this site. Jesus..get the stick out of your ass. Life's not that serious. Everyone here will be dead within the next 80 years, god forbid we drink some beer and watch something entertaining without micro analyzing it. If you don't like sports no problem go find another hobby you do enjoy.. But to make it sound like it's pathetic to enjoy professional sports? Come on man

I'm not an avid fan but watching the world's greatest athletes doing insane things I couldn't dream of doing is far from stupid.

[–]kennyko 5ポイント6ポイント  (14子コメント)

This is such a stupid, elitist argument.

We're all into different things and cheering for a team is just as tame as anything else we're into. You look at it as millionaires playing a game but I look at it as people who've achieved the very pinnacle of their fields doing something at a level most can only dream about.

Are heart or brain surgeons making millions of dollars every year?

Before you reply: yes, heart/brain surgeons' salaries are high, but consider this: the average salary for a player in the NBA is 5.15 MILLION DOLLARS. Let that sink in for a minute.

I don't care how good you are, you shouldn't be making that much to play a fucking game.

What exactly do you want NBA players to be paid? You're failing to account for revenue, which is in the BILLIONS. Where is that money supposed to go? The owners? The league? They are the reason why anyone gets any kind of money. If hospital profits were in the billions and could afford to pay their doctors in the millions, you'd be wondering why they have such a big profit margin. Doctors and athletes are wildly different professions. One is perceived as being selfless and the other is about entertainment.

Totally, and apparently entertainment is more important than selflessness to the masses.

Lots of people will pay to go see this game be played. Not as many people will need a heart/brain surgeon. That's what it mostly comes down to.

[–]Ted__Bundy [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

It's supply and demand you absolute fucking moron. Who are you to decide how much is too much to pay someone? There's around 350 or so NBA players in the entire WORLD. Obviously the billions that THEY generate are going to go back to them in the form of millions. Lots of money + not too many players = high salaries. On the other hand there are thousands and thousands of brain surgeons all over the world, obviously they would get paid less.

[–]Ancient_Unknown [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

I'm talking about what they deserve, nice strawman though!

I fundamentally disagree that professional game players should get paid that much, but I do agree that it's due to the amount of revenue it generates, which means it's a problem with the general populace; I can't blame the players for grabbing a slice of the pie, I just don't think they deserve a slice as big as they're getting for what they're doing.

Is that clear enough for you, bud?

Edit: also, I'm not saying players should get paid minimum wage, they definitely deserve at least six figures a year, but multiple millions is, in my personal opinion, outrageous.

God damn, you tards really love your sports, don't you?

So what? You're on reddit shooting the shit and thereby making them millions, why aren't you on freerice.com helping their ad revenue feed millions of children around the world?

It's because the latter is boring. Don't be a dumbass hypocrite.

[–]Ancient_Unknown [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Yeah dude, helping people is boring! And boring is dumb!

Come on man, grow up will you?

their 'field' is a very, very, very obscure game with random rules. it's kinda cool but kinda worthless to society at large. they produce very little of actual value but get paid millions due to demand and capitalism. meh. that's our society though. kim kumpdersteran ain't even hot, busted butterface, yet even she can stamp her name/ ass on everything after getting dicked by some rapper, and make millions a year. the absurdism is just funny, that's all

Unfortunately I'll have to be blunt here and say, well sir, so are you...am I wrong?

kim kumpdersteran ain't even hot, busted butterface

I'm sure you're eye candy.

You're not wrong, Walter, you're just an asshole.

Is it any more ridiculous than movies or TV? Let's watch the millionaires dress up as comic book heroes.
