Honestly, I don't get the furrie-hate. If people like wearing tails, so frigging what.

It's the association of those costumes with children and the fact that (at least some) furries do adult things in those costumes.

EDIT: RTFA, I see:

Furries say it’s about being social — meeting people with similar interests and helping brighten other people’s days. They recoil at the idea, put forth on a 2003 episode of “CSI,” that it is a sexual fetish.

Riiiiiiight. CSI started it. It's a conspiracy.

EDIT2: Here comes the furry brigade.

sighs It always comes back to the fact that some adults don't like how other adults do sex.

I wish people who thought that way would do a little more thinking. Some adults also like to dress up as pirates and chase each other around the bedroom. Some eat ice cream off of each other. Some call each other "baby". That has nothing to do with children.

I think you've found the seed of what makes people uncomfortable but anyone who gives it a moment's consideration should realize there's no need to hate them.

Wait, why is that a justification for the hate tho? Who the heck cares what someone's wearing while they're getting busy with consenting adults?

The percentage of furries who use their suits for yiffing is pretty tiny, that's why most recoil at the idea. Some folks use cosplay sexually too -- but again, so what?

I mean, we don't like that people use the sexual costumes to interact with children either. We have a custom Cards Against Humanity card referencing this among my little group. It is repulsive. But that's like hating men because some are abusers. Don't lump us all in to one group.
