Guys and gals, OP is trolling: https://np.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/38ejd7/well_that_was_fast_its_only_been_10_hours_since_i/cruiaaq

The whois record for fvxresearch.com shows the site was created/registered yesterday.

Pretty elaborate, and pretty telling about what we'll believe. Had me fooled until the white van bullshit.

Yeah, it's pretty shocking how gullible people are. This is a dumb joke. The domain's WHOIS also references Robert Hastings (lol) and uses an email address ...@nsa.gen.in, which is a TLD in India.

Since /u/pixelbat posted the phony white van bullshit, I can't trust him with this.

We need to have another post to clarify. These planes are FBI with shell names, but this one in particular could be a farce. Has anyone found other websites for other fake FBI names?

The story about the planes is probably true (at least in a broad sense, I don't think we have an real information on exactly who's operating them or why)...

But this website and Twitter stuff is BS. The website and Twitter were registered no more than about six hours before OP posted his Imgur album.

Either he stumbled on a very half-assed attempt by the FBI to spin the story just hours after they got started, or he's trolling for meaningless internet points.

The dickbutt picture is clearly him telling us that he's fucking with us and we believed him. We're a bunch of gullible Garys.

Interestingly, though, the Twitter account is posting from Bluffdale, Utah, site of the NSA Data Center.

I'm not totally sure, but I suspect that can be faked relatively easily

Well, I just tried to add a location on my Twitter account. While I live in Utah, and in fact, live a mere 20 minutes from the Data Center, it would not allow me to list Bluffdale as my location. I think you'd actually have to be in Bluffdale to do it. So OP is either posting from Bluffdale (not impossible) or something else is at play here, like him being able to fool Twitter into thinking he's in Bluffdale.

I don't know enough about VPNs/proxies to know how you do that; Bluffdale's not huge, and I honestly doubt there's someone hosting a proxy service there.

The location metadata is just a little bit of info that goes along with the tweet. Certain clients allow it to me changed and there are definitely tools for computers and smartphones that allow it to be manipulated.

I haven't used the Twitter web interface for years, but at one stage you were definitely able to manually tag your tweets to an arbitrary city-level location - that may still be the case

When I tried just now, it gave me four cities to choose from near me, besides a general "Utah" and "United States." It did not allow me to enter a city of my own choosing.

While this is probably a hoax, I'm just curious how OP is tagging his Tweets as "Bluffdale" -- if he doesn't in fact live there. And he might live there, in which case, hi, neighbor!

You can get a GPS spoofer in about 10 seconds on the android market.. Not very hard.

In a way, you have to admire OP's willingness to just throw away all credibility forever over this one little stunt...

whois info for web sites is different. you're supposed to verify it, but in reality, if you use something like godaddy, you can bs the hell out of it, which I assume OP did.

The AP story is true. FBI is in your butt, reading your emails and snarfing your phonecalls.

OP is full of shit. The web site with the stock photos he/she created him/herself.

Don't be dumb, realize where reality and unreality intersect and diverge. Yes, the government is flying drones around you to watch you in your underwear, picking your nose, in the event that that may be worth something to the Belgian kiddie-fuckers. But no, the Feds didn't make a web site yesterday and do a shitty job of it.

I don't understand it really. I thought the site and twitter were both suspicious, but the actual issue at hand is still very real. The FBI (or some gov agency) is registering surveillance planes under a bunch of fake entities.

This douche of an OP is either karma whoring or intentionally misdirecting dialogue about the real thing

Pretty elaborate

Not really. At first glance, I could tell it was bullshit. Pretty funny to see how everyone got strung along by such an idiotic post.

[–]richard_m_lurkmoar2 -3ポイント-2ポイント  (1子コメント)

someone created the site yesterday

either OP after reading the AP article or someone doing damage control for the AP article (which would explain the laziness)

They then registered it using NSA.GEN.IN, which is an actual site not indexed by google.in and was registered in Feb of 2014 in Bluffdale, Utah

Either OP dungoofed and is going to get v& for linking to an actual scary website as part of his joke, or OP actually did uncover this and is choosing between saying it was a joke or getting v&

Even after its been exposed as a joke, how is it still a conspiracy? Please explain this logic to me.

is the FVX website down? its not loading for me.
