About a decade ago when I first started driving by myself, I panicked in Webster Groves and ran a stop sign. The people that had the right of way both stuck a "what the fuck?" arm out of their respective windows, making it look like a mega "what the fuck" gesture. It still haunts me to this day. Super effective.

I actually don't use my blinker anymore either because rather than saying, "I'm merging into your lane. Please give me a safe distance" to people, it seems to say to St Louis drivers, "I'm thinking of merging into your lane, so you'd better speed up unless you want to let me in. "

lol, i try to not even let people see me turn my head anymore. i use my mirrors to get as sure as I can, then turn at the last second as i start to pull over for the final check. on rare occasions i've missed something and have to pull back, but even looking and people hit the gas to close the gap.

in fairness to "people" though, most drivers are assholes that only care about themselves. I let people over that proceed to drive 10 under and will come to a stop in front of me b/c people won't let them over another lane. or people pull in front of you in the left lane and then ride side by side with the car in the middle lane that sped up 2mph... i'll even get out of the fast lane to let someone pass who really just wanted to be the first car in line. now that he is, he'll drive slower than i was driving in the first place. i try to be considerate, but i get screwed over half the time. other people aren't as patient as me, so the road has turned into everybody being out for themselves.

Well in all fairness he was just trying to let you experience his excellence, just like the sticker on the truck said. I'd send it into the company... regardless of the situation the guy is representing their brand while in a company marked vehicle and I suspect this isn't the brand image they want.

If he loses his job over it, then there are other things at play. If I saw one of my employees doing this in a company branded vehicle they'd get a warning about it.

You can't give everyone a pass on not having some respect because they might be having a bad day. That's part of what's wrong with this world - people have zero respect for each other and then people like you want to give them a pass because they might be having a bad day.

How about he be a responsible adult and not do things unbecoming of the professional behavior his boss would expect out of him in front of a client. But, then again we wouldn't want to hold people accountable for their own behavior now would we.

Go to Paric's website and ask to speak to their Safety Director or Risk Management and forward them that photo if you're really pissed. This is a construction company; they will fire this guy for a move like that.
