it's a 9x9, why do you need it to be speedy? Just lube it up and solve it a few times

2x2

3x3 = 32.27; 33.33; (39.15); (32.03); 33.05 = 32.88

4x4 (1:45.20), 1:45.97; (2:10.23), 1:55.83, 1:56.17 = 1:52.66

5x5 = 3:55.01; 3:47.22; (3:44.220; (4:17.41); 4:09.37 = 3:57.20

I think this is the last competition I do in a while. I'm not improving and it's taking too much time to practice.

Take a look here, CBC advanced edge pairing, works for everything above a 5x5

Practice more. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but that's what it comes down to, there's no special trick, just have to get comfortable with the cube

I use Hoya on 5x5 just because the order of making the white cross edges first means I can concentrate a bit more than just finding random edge pieces, and once you're done with it you don't have to worry about any edge pieces being in the D layer, so less looking around frantically.

yeah, I didn't have Weisu springs so I just threw in whatever softer ones I had about.

I recently replaced the springs with the dayan 57s and it is infinitely better now. You have to run tight tensions when you do it, so the corner cutting isn't that spectacular (but lets be honest, it wasn't that great to begin with), but the trade off is it's massively quicker and also a lot more stable, I haven't had a single pop yet.

Downside is you have to rebuild a 6x6 which. . . I mean. . . don't know if it's worth it.

I like the white/white edge piece (top, 5th from right). Even with a resticker that takes talent

edit: Also, front corner yellow white green. Amazing.

I know I've improved by about 20 seconds since I started in January, but there is a large lack of 'slower' people participating maybe

yeah, I'm kind of getting to the point that I feel like an idiot being almost last every week, despite trying to practice when I'm at home.

you can put a sliver of paper between the edges when you put the cap back on, making it a bit of a tighter fit

Is it just me, or are people in the weekly competitions getting stupidly fast? I looked up some of the competitions from other months and there were a lot more 'slower' people participating, but now unless you are sub 25 in 3x3 you're basically in the last 5 positions.

Also, new pb of 3.01.6 on 5x5!

I don't get it. It's comparing one family where they guy took risks, got an education and started his own firm, vs a couple that is living beyond their means, have a massive amount of expenses and stuff they don't need or even use to the full potential (I'm looking at you, huge truck), and have no special skills or education. What is this trying to prove?

The Wasatch fault is segmented quite a bit, so if there is a major event on one of the segments, it is unlikely it will effect a larger area than the immediate area in front of that segment. A large enough one could cause a cascade on the segments, but it's unlikely.
