Face palm well that's it. Are you registered with FinCEN as an MSB? Do you have an anti money laundering policy? A compliance officer? Coinbase has made it abundantly clear that they consider LocalBitcoins trading to be a money service business activity. Either demonstrate to them that you are a compliant MSB and buy all you want without issue, or... Find yourself in this exact position.

Remember how in every post like this i say that banks and anyone that gets audited has to chop off the non audited links or else fail themselves?

That is what Coinbase did. By dealing with you they risk what ever regulation they have.

What the fuck? I messaged Coinbase, and they refuse to tell me why they cancelled the buy.

Seems like if this was the issue they'd have a boiler plate form letter that states what they're doing and why. What if dude was willing to get an ms license (probably not, but still)?

They don't want to get into a dialog that will result in the other party doing the bare minimum required to comply. They simply don't want risky business.

Here is my problem. I am a registered msb. I have an aml policy. I have a lawyer who has reviewed my aml and, in my consultation with him, has said I am perfectly legal in all regards. I even have a business license and an accountant to ensure i pay proper taxes. I still had my coinbase account closed. I lost 1000s because of it. I now buy from another exchange, and guess what? They were perfectly OK with the documents I submitted.

Coinbase, here is some advice. It takes a long time to earn a customer but only a second to lose one. Start worrying about how to keep your customers happy as much as you do keeping government regulators happy.
