Yep, unnecessary use here. Not defending myself, but here is the context. Shitshow of a thread where a man was convicted and sentenced to 8 months prison for "tricking a sex worker into providing sexual services for free". This comment was 2/3 to a prostitute defending the sentencing by saying:

I clearly didn't agree with that sentiment, but didn't need to use that word there.

Firstly, let me say this is not an insult. Where do the mods get their list of insults from - the big book of dramaqueens? It was used in the context of me telling a User to stop being so childish as they were discouraging other redditors.. So what's the context here? Well this was a comment thread about the DV register in NSW. The discussion was about spousal abuse. I commented 7 times before this comment above. S_Defenestration tried to hijack my comment to discuss abuse by his mother, I tried to bring it back to the actual topic: spousal abuse.

Then he and SultanofShit had their own little chat in which Sultan accused me of "pig ignorance", being "a pig", accusing me of baiting,, and wondering what my life is like. Only after this did I post my rant above.

Was I wrong? Yes. I accepted the ban as I showed in my modchat above - my comment was clearly in breach of the rules. Should I have had to deal with 2 redditors hijacking my comment to discuss a different topic, then attack me, after I tried to get it back on topic? No.. It's exactly what I complained about in my original comment here, and if you read these comments you'll see why I have an issue with it.

No, you're missing the point I'm making. Firstly, twerp should not be a bannable insult. If that's the level you want to enforce, then why don't you ban "poopoohead", "grub", "snot", "brat", "turd"? It means "childish" - it's not an insult. You'll have to ban 95% of your Users if you're going down to this level.

Secondly, what was unjust was that I was toning it down. I could have said dick, or wanker, I thought I was on safe ground with twerp - I feel like dredd just picked that up because he was keeping an eye on me to give me the boot and this was the first chance he got. So I did consider the first ban a fair warning, and I know that warnings aren't mandated, but 10 days for twerp - come on. It's ridiculous.

Thankyou for at least replying. Extremely disappointed that half the mods haven't bothered to show up when the complaints are mostly about moderation, but at least you've given me your reasons here which is appreciated.
