Was my school the only one that never asked us for these? I feel like I was robbed of a golden opportunity to be a smart ass

Because you were the class that sprayed ass spray in the hallways twice a semester and they knew they couldn't trust you

Edit: seriously, high schoolers out there. Do NOT FUCK WITH THIS STUFF. It's way worse than you could imagine and you just come off looking like an asshole, because it's satan's asscrack + somalian garbage

XD i wish. My class was so broken up into cliques we couldnt even cooperate enough to make a senior prank happen. It was awful.

No, it would have been awful if you did spray that stuff. Had a friend do that in the sixth grade and the entire fire department showed up and our school was evacuated because a teacher thought it was a gas leak. I've never seen that kid so scared when it all went down. That smell was the cause of my hearing loss as well.

How does smell cause deafness

You make a good point, but I still think despite the humorous memes Keanu Reeves is actually an immortal vampire.

Nothing sounds better than the senior prank idiots at my school did for my graduation year.

"Let's get a goat and toss it over the fence to the pool area! Uh oh, the goat's leg broke, didn't see that coming..."

ಠ_ಠ

I know the clique thing. The year before mine came up with the idea to release four baby piglets into the school (because I live in a rural area where piglets were available) with bibs numberd 1, 2, 3 and 5.

Some jackass in my year found a dead raccoon and threw it from a second story balcony into the main atrium of the school... the raccoon exploded when it hit the ground, four feet from the biology teacher. For a woman used to overseeing a bunch of teenagers dissect fetal pigs, she looked very disgusted and nauseous....

Some of our seniors got busted after breaking into the school after hours for a senior prank that involved sealing the school's entrances with cinder blocks. The next day we were all herded into the auditorium where the principle principal went ape shit threatening to cancel our grad ceremony. It was weird for everyone who wasn't involved.

My class had a few things planned that never happened because our terrible principle said that there was zero-tolerance for pranks and that anyone suspected of being involved in one would be arrested no matter how harmless it was. He never had our respect, so he always resorted to fear tactics to control us. We had 3 or 4 walkouts/riots in the last month of school, but I wasn't at any of them because of AP testing and visits with college faculty.

Over my time at high school they went from unlocking the school for the students to stop them breaking in, to refusing to let anyone who participated in pranks to sit exams.

I think it was the class that took all the furniture out of the classrooms and arranged them in equivalent positions on the roof that finally put a stop to it.

Does Somalian garbage have a distinctive smell? Can you describe it in extensive detail?

Look at it this way; it saved your future self from being embarrassed by what your teenage self thought was a GREAT quote. I decided that the words of Millard Filthmore best canonized my teen years. Good job, self.

Schrodinger was making fun of the the notion that a state is unknowable until observed. It wasn't meant to augment the stuff Einstein had come up with, but rather, mock it, and show it's utter contempableness.

That's the first time I've heard this. I don't know if it's true but I guarantee we'll see it again the next time it's referenced.

Here's the relevant section: Schrödinger did not wish to promote the idea of dead-and-alive cats as a serious possibility; on the contrary, he intended the example to illustrate the absurdity of the existing view of quantum mechanics.

Source: Schrödinger, Erwin (November 1935). "Die gegenwärtige Situation in der Quantenmechanik (The present situation in quantum mechanics)". Naturwissenschaften 23 (49): 807–812.

I've heard a physicist say this, but more like it's making fun of the weirdness of quantum physics and how strange it is.

True enough, but what he actually did was create a thought experiment that made the idea more clear and digestible to lay people. Funny how we don't get to decide how what we create is used.

Another fun example of this is how H.P. Lovecraft hated games and thought they were pointless. Now his creations are very popular amongst gamers.

Funny how we don't get to decide how what we create is used.

Someone should tell that to Monsanto!

According to Schrödinger, the Copenhagen interpretation implies that the cat remains both alive and dead until the box is opened. Schrödinger did not wish to promote the idea of dead-and-alive cats as a serious possibility; on the contrary, he intended the example to illustrate the absurdity of the existing view of quantum mechanics.[1] However, since Schrödinger's time, other interpretations of the mathematics of quantum mechanics have been advanced by physicists, some of which regard the "alive and dead" cat superposition as quite real.

The link [1] is a German newspaper (I think) from 1935. Credible?

Despite the intentions, the possibilities of an existing/non-existing state simultaneously is heavily supported in Quantum Mechanics.

Fuck, it must suck to be a Muslim at times, some of these comments are horrible.

I'm Sikh, I spent some time yesterday talking my Muslim friend off a (figurative) cliff because she had just ended a relationship of 5 years. Same thing happened a week prior with a black friend of mine. Regardless of what these fucks online think we all bleed the same. Some of our loved ones die, some of our loved ones cheat, our significant others get cancer, our children get hit by cars. But at the end of it all we understand that our collective life matters, and it's one life, when I hurt... you hurt, when you hurt... I feel pain. When you are happy, I am happy....and when I make you laugh...on reddit or out there, It ought not matter what we look like because we will both be dead soon, because we are the same. When you are happy I am happy

You get used to it. It's best to just ignore them, they tend to say the same thing over and over again.

Bruh...as a black redditor I can relate.

Another black Redditor, that shit gets old really... really fast.

There's a lot of shit I'd love to share with my friends on this website but some of the people here just... smh.

It's so bad that I'm terribly close to leaving. I only frequent two subs now, and they're both for woc, everything else makes me want to cry/bang my head against a wall.

I felt that way too or a while until I found places /r/SubredditDrama to vent to (they like to make fun of the more shittier aspects of Reddit), I mean that was like literally the only I could feel safe expressing my feelings as a black dude especially when Baltimore happened.

People like to shit on it because supposedly "It's just SRS in disguise!" but that's not the case at all, it's jut a safe place for folks like you and me to express themselves against the casual bigotry that goes on in Reddit, you'd be among friends in there. And if you wanna know more places like it just PM me, I'd be more than happy to help.

Well actually SRD actually caused a big problem (and massive influx of downvotes) with a "henna inspired" makeupaddiction post just a couple days ago, so I don't know that I'd really find them sympathetic. But I might check it out again in a couple weeks.

How then did you find your way to /r/funny, the butthole of reddit?

Sorry, only participate in* But I saw the thumbnail and can't resist a clever hijabi yearbook comment.

After seeing a girl get called ghetto on here just for having the audacity to be black, and then the comment getting 400+ upvotes, I think I'm gonna need a link to those subreddits...

/r/brownbeauty and /r/blackladies. The latter is more political but both have very friendly/open communities to talk about almost anything.

I'm still not used to it. Still getting used to the shitty comments on reddit

Spoiler alert: the shitty comments are made by shitty people, and shitty people are shitty people everywhere

Dont worry too much about it. Most of those people arnt the majority by a long shot. Most of them are misguided and old, or young and naive. Some of the young ones usually come around when they get older and socialize

The scary thing is that the more of those comments you read, the more you start to think they are the majority

as horrible as they can get it, it gets boring you hear the same things. no creativity at all

I always tell my self to ignore any posts even remotely related to Islam to avoid the heartache but somehow I always end up reading every single comment,it's like being in an abusive relationship with the Internet,it sucks

I've felt a strange closeness to Muslims since joining reddit. If they aren't making crappy comments about Muslims, it's about Christians, and vice versa.

Its just a few neckbeards. They all (the angry Muslim haters) talk about yow their religious parents were abusive, so now they "speak out" aka preach hate against religion. A few others are sometimes conservative Europeans who hate Muslims, but mostly its the same guys who talk about rule 1: be attractive and how "watresses are evil they flirt with everyone" and how "I cqnt treat anyone with respect who believes in a magical ghost" and on and on.

Honestly it doesnt bother me. I wish i could speak to them face to face because the hate stems from a broader negative outlook on life, and life really can be as pleasant as you make it, very jpyful, so I just wish i could meet them and nudge them to make changes to help them be more positive.

Yes, some of the comments here suck. But it's disingenuous to paint everyone who criticizes faith as an angry neckbeard. There are people who were abused by religion, and there are religions which enable, or even go so far as to encourage, such abuse.

Criticizing these things isn't hating on religion, and can be done without being spiteful to practitioners of these faiths. No belief system should be immune from criticism. And if you were to talk to some of these people as you expressed a desire to, you'd find incidents of abuse that would absolutely churn your stomach. People who were molested by church members as a child and told it was their fault for being "tempting," teenagers who were disowned by their family and made homeless because they were gay, or people who live a life full of regret because they were never allowed to pursue their interests or be with the person they loved under threat of harm because it wasn't a "godly" pursuit.

Many of these people have created a positive outlook for their lives, and did so by leaving religion and their families, many of whom choose to never speak to them again as a result. "Disfellowshipping" is very real, and is an abusive method of control meant to discourage leaving.

So none of this justifies hatred, but please understand where these people's bitterness comes from.

I think that in 2015, I'd rather be gay than Muslim, from the standpoint of social acceptance.

Well haha as someone who's both its not easy

I'm also a Muslim and I don't have any problems with people who are also gay, I just wanted to let you know that because I know there is a lot of intolerance and bigotry in the world.

Windy days= Bad Hijab days. Days when your baby hairs wont cooperate= bad hijab days. Days when you thought you could single layer but it turns out nope too sheer=bad hijab day. Your pin is stabbing you in the side of the head al day= bad hijab day.

But on days when you get your wrap and pins banging maybe a head chain if you're feeling fancy. OHHH.. Best days.

Also the day you discovered either Hoojabs or the no pin no under cap infinity scarf method.BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!

Probably are. As a guy I used to get bad turban days. Used to spend ages in front of a mirror trying to get that turban to look just right. Still remember the times I used to juggle with it in prayers when it decided to unravel or slide off lol. Now that am older, I dont wear turbans much, but when I do I just throw it on and am out the door in no time.

A Muslim girl that I knew in high school joked that when parasitic insects took over the world by taking over peoples' brains after through their ears, she'd be safe and laughing at all of us from under her hijab. She was funny, I liked her.

[–]Starbucks_Lovers 3ポイント4ポイント  (0子コメント)

My high school had "Least likely to have a bad hair day" and we gave it to the one girl who wore a hijab. That being said, the administration asked her if she was okay with it. She loved it.
